He is selling tradition. The spring practices and facilities have been loaded with former UT players hanging around. They also have a brand new $42 million dollar training facility that is unbelievable. You can also look at their roster and understand that there is early playing time up for grabs if you work hard. College football goes in ups and downs. UT is on the way back up... In recruiting... They'll have to produce on the field..

I understand the pull for playing for a hometown team and I guess my original post was less about Hurd and Kelly Jr. and more about hearing UT being thrown around by a bunch of recruits this year. To me it is turning into the Ole Miss of this year.
As to your point about it not being about the past 10 years, I have to disagree some. For many of us, we can remember UT being relevant. But these kids are 17-18 years old which means they were 3-ish years old when UT won a National Championship and 7-8 years old away from when they were competitive on a yearly basis. It is the same way we look at a lot of other programs (especially in the B1G).

You guys are getting way too excited over nothing. You will have to keep these guys committed for 10 months and a 5-6 win season. UT will not finish in the top 10 maybe not even top 15 in recruiting. The Vols will lose to Oregon, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Auburn and will drop one they are supposed to win, recruits will be jumping ship when they see nothing has changed. Start patting yourself on the back when these guys are still with you after NSD. #RTR

I'm just being real. Bama is stacked at running back. We picked up four of them last cycle and already have another 2014 back committed. We'll be sure to flip him from you if we miss on LF though!

No reason that with a few solid recruiting classes and rebuilding both lines of scrimmage, that you guys cannot take USCe's spot. Should not be an issue if he builds the program up the right way.

The East is always gonna have UF and UGA contending. UT will join soon enough IMO.
