Who also happens to be the #3 recruit in the nation....and from Amite that has been pro Bama lately. Of course they would get excited.

The Bama narrative was that Saban didn't really want him or pressed for him.

That was not the Bama narrative, it was the sour grapes of a few Bama fans. I certainly wanted him, as did the vast majority, but never thought there was much of a chance. He always showed respect, it's the kind of kid he was, but he never seemed "moved" by Alabama.

OTOH, all Bama fans did think Bama would survive. He seems like a very fine person. It's easy to be happy for his success.

And yes, any Bama fan that has any sense wants IS. Also, to assume that there are plenty of others is unwise, though you would think they will find some others - they are needed.

Bama is going to load up on the DL with or without him. Several 5 stars.

Totally scary thought of Fournette in a Bama uniform!

That's true but wondering if that is a sign he is a strong lean to LSU and bama has moved on? I don't see Nick giving up on the top DT in the nation

Not so sure he is the top DL on Bama's board.

That was great. Saban used every line in the book to try and pull Fournette from us.

Class/ spots are filling up, so are you saying he may not be a take for Bama if he's lower on the board?

Just my opinion, but I definitely believe he is a take. I also don't believe all of the shite about him being a silent Bama commit. I'm not an insider, so I'm just going with my gut on both of those opinions

Someone on the LSU 247 board alluded to this as well. He stated that Saban isn't too happy with his competitive spirit or something along the lines of that. I didn't know what to think of it and was questioning if he knew what he was talking about.

I figured he was legit because he then proceeded to say Jimbo and six boosters met with him and his family but didn't want to elaborate any further than that. I'm not sure why any one would make that up if he didn't have some inside info into his recruitment.

EDIT: For me, I think he ends up at Bama. All the signs are pointing to it. The homer LSU fans won't let themselves believe it. But we've seen this story play out before, many times.

In other words, Saban pushed him to commit but he wouldn't.

I hope he does leave, not only for Bama's sake but the uproar would be a hoot, but it doesn't look on the surface like there is any real sense it's a probability. OTOH, Saban, Kuligowski and Alabama should be a strong pull. It may depend on how the season plays out.

Wut? Who ever said that Bama didn't want Fournette?

I believe we were stacked that year at RB and were not looking to take an RB but would have made an exception for Fournette because he was that special.

That's actually true.

Nck saban famously told leonard "I don't need you, but I want you".

The lsu fanbase doesn't like talking about how close fournette actually came to attending alabama, with Burton burns on him and burns being a St Augustine alum and all.
