Lots of UA fans were acting like Liner had raped or murdered someone, but while sneaking into the city pool after hours on the heels of recently being arrested for yelling at the cops shows poor judgement, it is hardly thuggish behavior.

Sheffield, where he was arrested for sneaking into the pool, is a shite hole town where the Police Chief was just fired a cpl days ago for running a shady department, amongst other things.

His behavior at MSHS at the beginning of the season where he apparently walked out of practice and quit the team for a.brief stint shows the kid is spoiled and has probably gotten his way because of his athletic ability for most of his life. Which makes him the same as most of the kids being recruited.

We would sneak into private neighborhood pools almost nightly when I was his age. But, we were not high profile recruits and the internet did not exist as it does now.

He has some growing up to do, but nothing he has done so far, to my knowledge, would warrant anyone to stop recruiting him.
I live in the Shoals area, but I'm certainly no expert on him, just going by what I read in local paper and have heard.

Which is what makes the whole thing comical to Auburn fans

UGA would be very likely too.

Something about he might go to aTm because that's where Luper's kid is going? Again, I really don't know much about it. I don't keep up with UA recruiting until after the season now that we have Saban and I don't keep up with AU recruiting at all other than NSD.

So take all the talk about Foster with a grain of salt. Just speculation since you ask about the rest of their class.

that shite wont fly if he ends up at Bama. He'll be surrounded by guys just as talented and coaches that dont put up with that kind of crap.

I can't help what the retarded fans do or say. Every school has them. And should Liner flip to UA, the retard AU fans will come out of the woodwork talking about how they didn't want a thug like Liner anyway, just like the retard Bama fans did when he picked AU in the beginning.

That's just how some fans, esp the ones that frequent message boards, are. You know that.

I thought bama stopped recruiting the thug? I know I remember seeing multiple posts of how there was no way saban would recruit him after his two arrests.

This seems to be Auburn's recruiting version of "Errbody was wrong about Cam and we're gonna keep bringing it up".

I love how now that it looks like Liner may actually flip, the AU posters are going from "not gonna happen" to "I thought y'all didn't recruit thugs", based on what a handful of Bama posters said.

So what's the time table on when it's no longer acceptable to bring it up?

What's it been? 4 months? That must be too long. Let us know the correct timeline in which pointing hypocrites is no longer okay on this message board.

TIA.

It's more the fact it's gonna be used outside the timeframe, it's been almost 2 seasons since Newton took a snap and it's still said. I think the people who were wrong know by now.

It's a battle cry, Liner will be a true sophomore in college(at either school) and I can see it still being used. "Good thing Bama stopped recruiting him ".

It's a dig at a minority that is exaggerated into everyone...

I will make a couple of points...

1) I will say this about Dee Liner: He's been committed to Auburn since June 11th of 2011. Can he flip? Yes. Will he flip? It's a definite possibility. Will it be easy to flip him? Not in my opinion. Like he said on Twitter a while back: Auburn never gave up on him throughout his arrests and trouble (even though it was nothing huge), and he won't give up on Auburn.

2) Right now, I see a majority of the Auburn recruits looking around. Some may be looking to find a new school, and some may be flirting with other schools in-case they need a back-up plan. I think most will stay committed if the bigger guys don't start jumping ship, but if they do, we'll see some other guys go to back-up plans.

3) I can't see Carl Lawson jumping to Tennessee because they're in the same position as Auburn right now. I haven't heard much of him looking elsewhere (other than Auburn or Tennessee). Trey Johnson has plenty of smoke and has plenty of schools on his list (USC, Penn State, Florida, etc). Dee Liner is definitely between Auburn and Alabama. Reuben Foster is puzzling, but he seems to be the most solid regardless of what anyone says. If he flips, I doubt it would be Washington or Texas A&M, and I'd look to Georgia. It just makes sense. Irvin-Sills is a candidate to flip to West Virginia, and Arshaad Jackson is a candidate to flip to Florida State or Miami (even though I wouldn't view it as a big loss). I can't see Jeremy Johnson flipping, as Auburn was a childhood favorite and our only competition is Ole Miss. There's been smoke around Jordan Wilkins to Vandy, but I don't know how true that is. He's a need in our class. His broken leg could also affect his recruitment from other schools. Just a little rundown on some recruits...

4) This terrible season does hurt Auburn with players like Monty Adams and Derrick Green. They definitely had Auburn as a favorite before this staff crumbled the team, but we aren't in the running anymore.

5) Could a solid hiring of another coach like Petrino, Strong, or Fisher keep the recruits solid and lure other big names to us? We'll see. It might be too late in the game, but I wouldn't count us out for guys like Adams/Green if we did make a great hire.

Bobby Petrino can't recruit. You think Tuberville had problems recruiting against Nick Saban? Petrino would be worse.

Tuberville had problems because he basically gave up in recruiting. Petrino may not be the best recruiter, but he's a damn good coach, and it's way easier to recruit at Auburn vs Arky. Plus, he'll have some athletes, on both sides of the ball, that could be stars.

We could look at best case scenario for Auburn and say we hire Jimbo Fisher at head coach, Bobby Petrino at offensive coordinator, and keep BVG at defensive coordinator. But we know that won't happen.

if it makes you feel better thats due to acceptance from auburn fans that a kid would be off his rocker to pick auburn right now, and further more you guys said you didn't recruit thugs and that he'd fit in at auburn due to his "thug nature," we're just reminding you hoping that you won't take him.

As for the complaint that you all get lumped in with the folks that said this, realize that it's just a message board and this doesn't matter a hill of beans. You're also welcome to remind the folks that do say things like that they're stupid. But i woudln't let it get you in a twist.
