All SEC Fr Team Mekhi Wingo transferring from Mizzou

This one makes no sense. Was our best DT and from STL. I know his HS Coach was just hired to LSU, Robert Steeples. This is a headscratcher and everyone is shocked about this one.
Side note, we did land the OSU DT transfer and maybe this was known by the coaching staff.

If Robert is at LSU (I missed this, Robert's a great guy and coach) then Mekhi can't transfer there for a year. You have to be two years fully removed from being coached by someone to sign with the school they coach at unless Robert's getting an on the field role.

It makes me look down on Steeples quite honestly. I know he transferred to Memphis later in his career from Mizzou. But its a really shitty move and just reeks of sour grapes with a staff that wasnt even his staff, or Barrys staff while he was playing at Mizzou.

Steeples was hired as a defensive assistant coach, I'm almost certain that means he will be on the field.

He was very vocal about a MO kid going to Arky on twitter so im not sure its very good, ha. Dude loved mizzou, thats why mizzou fans think it was either LSU bc his HS coach took a job there or stay at mizzou.

I was saying in the Burden thread earlier. You get the signature and develop these guys.
If they don't like their position coach or QB, or wanting to see something different signing these dudes really isn't an accomplishment anymore.

How is it tampering when he was in the portal before steeples was hired (I think) ? He has just said he was offered by lsu not going to lsu for sure.
I mean frick, the shite show that has been lsu football over the last two years has been unreal.I can’t think of anything good that’s happened to us besides getting a better coaching staff. We got players flipping and transferring all over the place and the one time that it appears that we may finally have something positive go our way , y’all start talking about tampering.
When there are literally thousands of players in the portal and many more everyday .
So in other words , frick off with that tampering shite, according to the secrant lsu is a dumpster fire and will never be good again. Y’all have no reason to worry about lsu . Let us have a good moment for once

He entered the portal about a week after Steeples was hired. STL radio guy said that his leaving was a direct result of Steeples not liking Drinkwitz because he didn't interview him or something
