I thought Porter had already moved into housing at LSU before he was cut loose.
He did. He went to summer school and did summer work outs. Then was asked to gray shirt, made a rash decision and went to UK.
I actually met him at the Subway next to my office that fall semester while he was at Kentucky. He was head to toe in UK gear. Sadly, he was in town for a grandparent's funeral.
Nice kid though, glad everything has worked out for him. Now he'll be our starting center.

I agree. I don't remember hearing of any other school where the frickin moms always cause so much crap.
It happens almost every year to other schools. We are not a first and we won't be the last.

It appears that there may soon be a conclusion to the wildest story of National Signing Day 2013.
That story?
Alex Collins, the five-star running back from Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) South Plantation High School, committed to Arkansas Monday. And he was all set to sign with the Razorbacks Wednesday, but his mom, with whom he does not live, stole and ran off with his letter of intent, as she wants him to attend Miami and stay close to home.
As it turns out, however, Collins might have a family member sign for him (assuming he has procured a new letter from Arkansas), and fax it in.
A trusted source actually told me this week that it would not surprise him if Collins was forced to track down his dad and have him sign, because his mom was so obstinate throughout the process.
Richard Davenport of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette is hearing similar things.

Looks like Alex is going to get his Dad to sign his NLI for him.

Glad you liked it NorthPlace!
Oh and congrats on your awesome signing class. At this rate the SEC West may end up in conference play with a 7-way tie at 5-3.

The kid is 18. Why does he even need his parents to sign?

NCAA rule, under 21 requires one parent/legal guardian's signature.
