For bama fans. Not trying to bash or make fun. But what’s going on with your recruiting class? I haven’t seen bama recruiting this bad in decades. I know it’s still early, but majority of the top 100 recruits are committed.

Small class in a potentially horrendous recruiting year nationwide.

Our 2028 class is already shaping up to be either #1 or #2.

Time will tell if it was the smart play, but signing a small class and investing in current roster and portal. If they aren’t back on track for 2028 we could be in trouble but early returns look good there.

I know it was down in Alabama. And even regional wise. Can’t speak nationally. Alabama missed on some spots they needed to fill. But it’s still a small class even if they landed those guys.

We might lose only 11 players this year, and have to pay the returning players

Not too many blue chippers. Out of the 14 recruits, 11 are 3*s.

It's called strategic spending... Presently they're LOADED... The last 2 recruiting classes were stellar.... This upcoming class is about finding and DEVELOPING good players that fit their system...

NIL and free agency, ummm I mean the transfer portal, have changed things.... We can't and shouldn't try to outspend Texas or the Aggies... Also the 2028 class for Bama will be top 5... Presently they're sitting at number 1....

In a nutshell, spend wisely, build DEPTH, a winning culture and the chips will fall into place....

Kind of agree with this strategic spending, myself. I think it is useless to spend piles of money on high school kids that have not played a down of football, I would recruit a bunch of 2/3 star kids that would stay with me a few years and bring in some help from the portal. Plenty lower star rated kids that pan out, big time in states like alabama, mississippi, La, and Ga.

Agree, and if a 4 or 5 star incoming freshman isn't expected to be able to help immediately don't pay him giant dollars only to have him sit most of his freshman year and then transfer out. Schools would be better off paying proven transfer players for 1 year that they expect will play a lot for that one year.
