LSU, Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma and South Carolina remain in Chavez’s recruitment.

Everything I’ve read says she is going to the highest bidder.

She’s down to Both the Texas schools and Oklahoma. LSU removed themselves and South Carolina is just a hat for optics.

Tech or Oklahoma is my guess. She won’t be allowed to play her game at Texas. Vic isn’t having it.

She asked LSU for a seven-figure NIL deal.

not even WNBA players make that. She has no idea how low her market value is.

Highest paid In the WNBA is Jackie Young at 252k/year

I like the spot Oklahoma is in here but Tech dropped a million on a softball pitcher.

Tech is a UA school. When it comes to basketball, a lot of it is about brands. She grew up in Nikes, so it will probably be a Nike (or Jordan) school.

In many cases, personal branding takes priority in the women's game. If Texas wants to land her, they’ll have to outbid Texas Tech and Oklahoma bigly. But if she’s focused on building her brand and playing her style of basketball, Texas isn’t the best fit—unless the money makes it worth her while. Plus, her game doesn’t align with Texas’s system

I’m confused on how “personal branding” means Texas has to largely outbid Tech and OU? When it comes to branding, Texas is the bigger brand, Austin has more NIL opportunities than Norman and Lubbock.

That’s a fair point—Texas is definitely the bigger brand, and Austin offers more NIL opportunities than Norman or Lubbock. The argument here is that if she prioritizes her personal brand and playing style, Texas might not be the best fit unless the financial incentive is significant. While Texas provides a bigger platform, that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the right system for her game. If she’s looking for a situation where she can fully showcase her style and maximize both on-court impact and branding opportunities, she may see a better fit elsewhere—even if Texas has the larger NIL market.

I don't disagree with that. I personally think she will go whatever place offer's her the best ability to grow her own brand while in college. The real money for women's basketball is in brand deals, so whatever school leads to better brand opportunities I think has the edge.

Personally I think that is Texas, OU, SC and LSU. I don't think Adidas is as heavily invested into women's sports as Nike is.

Word in Baton Rouge is that LSU has backed off due to her asking price.

Yeah She wants more than the highest paid WNBA player. She clearly doesn’t know her own worth

She’s not getting 1 mil from OU she may get what Beard got but that’s not happening . It won’t matter anyhow in a month all school will have the same
money to give and if you spend 1 mil on a womens basketball player that won’t be a good idea imo. The days of Texas buying all the good players are over soon.

The top recruit was in Norman today for a gameday visit. She watch the Sooners beat FGCU.

Chavez is supposed to make her college decision on Tuesday by the way.
