Was it wrong to say we would require a TE to block like Saban does? I think it is pretty safe to say most, if not all teams require their TEs to block. He just happened to be talking to an Alabama fan.
Relax, man.

If anybody can't help themselves it is Tennessee fans.
Arik is all VOLS

When you say "our staff" doesn't know how to use a TE, you are referring to a guy who is now at UT

No, we have not had an elite tight end.

Maybe if he was utilized a lot more he would have been drafted higher, just a thought...

He ran a 4.9. He was physically maxed out in high school. He simply was not a 5 Star talent, even if he led the sec tight ends in receiving. The ranking services missed big time on him. They aren’t perfect.

Yet he showed up big in games like Florida and Alabama last year. Seems like the talent was there. Also I remember had a few good catches against us.

That's cool, but not putting how many yards they actually makes it not mean as much. Who cares if someone is 3rd in receiving yards if they only had 200 for the entire season.

Does UGA's coaching staff rely on the recruiting sites' rankings or their own evaluations?

I’ll let you rethink this statement

UGAs staff evaluating him correctly and he contributed to the team. He wasn’t a 1st round draft pick and no one on our staff ever claimed he would be.

80% of our recruiting budget goes to 247 to help us find players and bump up our players ratings

I'll let you re-read my statement. You're not painting the entire picture if you leave out the total number of yards they have.

Dawgs247's Kipp Adams flipped his CB pick for Gilbert from UGA to Foggy.

And who or what talent does UGA have at TE to keep Gilbert from attending? As I said, UGA is taking 2 TE's this cycle, obviously because we are losing two seniors. There are 3 elite talents at TE this cycle: Gilbert, Theo Johnson, and Darnell Washington. We've already secured our 2 in Washington and Johnson. So the bus is full.
Is that real? This is the first I've heard on Washington.
