Who did Georgia play besides Bama that was so tough again?
Florida is #10, LSU is #11 and Kentucky is #15. Add Alabama to the mix at #1, and do you really believe Clemson's schedule was in the ballpark?
The highest ranked team Clemson played was Texas A&M at #19.

Wasn’t South Carolina ranked when we played them too?

I'll be sitting on pins and needles that day.

They were, but I prefer end of season rankings. Gives a better feel for how good the team actually was.

Do you want to talk about other facts, or just troll the board?

On a yearly basis, Georgia’s and Clemson’s schedules aren’t too far off. Both teams have ND coming up, both teams play in fairly mediocre divisions, both teams have a weak yearly OOC rival.
Next year you both play A&M, and apart from the ND game (who Clemson will play 2x in the next 4 years), both schedules are fairly weak apart from the odd game here and there.
Like I said in my original post (which has somehow been twisted by you Dullards), he isn’t picking Georgia over Clemson because Georgia schedule is murderer’s row every year

N.C. State and Boston College were both top 20 when Clemson played them if you’re trying to count SC for Georgia.

there is no comparison this year on schedules. Georgia's is much, much more difficult. FSU being down and not playing Notre Dame on top of NCST and BCU being down really drained the Clemson schedule - not Clemson's fault but there is no denying Clemson had an incredibly light schedule this year and, against the two decent teams they played - ATM and Syracuse - they struggled.

Yes and we are talking about the schedules when Clay Webb will be in school.

I think his point is that it's not realistic to think he's picking UGA over Clemson because UGA has a tougher schedule. Now, could the fact that he wants to compete against SEC teams or in SEC venues factor in? Sure. You can't really compare the atmospheres of the two leagues. The ACC has two or maybe three teams that have a home game atmosphere that is SEC-like.

This guy gets it. SOS ebbs and flows based on the year, but the fact that the SEC is college football does not.

Back to Clay Webb. Just think too many Bama fans were sold on a guy that lives in Bama was gonna stay in state. I went to High School w/ Clay's mom (Douglasville, GA - 20miles West of Atlanta) and so at least 1/2 of the kid's family is from the state of Georgia (don't know the dad).
While maybe you could say Bama had a slight home advantage just because the kid grew up in Bama, there was not some deep tie to the Bama program - so, at the end of the day, the kid is going to go where he is most comfortable. From all I have read, Webb is a big fan of Georgia OLine coach Sam Pittman. The best thing Webb liked about Bama was the S&C coach - Scott Cochran. If Webb does pick UGA like I expect, I'm sure it will be many factors but Pittman probably is what puts UGA over the top - just the relationship - I know Bama has great OL coach/history as well.

Well even then, how many atmospheres are ‘SEC like’ even in the SEC?
Bama and UGA will be full thanks to their success recently, but apart from that you have:
Tennessee is a ghost town every Saturday now.
Auburn isn’t much better apart from the odd year they’re good.
LSU is half full by the 3rd quarter of nearly every game.
Florida has never had consistently good atmospheres.
A&M even have problems filling up most Saturdays.
Teams like Mizzou and SC will fill for Georgia but neither atmosphere is really unique when compared to ACC schools when they host Clemson.
Were this 10 years ago I’d agree, but the game day atmosphere across the country has decreased by quite a lot.

I think the point is SEC > ACC both in talent and just overall love of the game.
You know it, so just stop with the arguing.

But are they there, now? I mean FSU was top 5 or something like that when they played Alabama last year, but we all know they were not a top 5 team.
I'm not sure why you are arguing this point. Do you really believe the ACC is close to the SEC?

Auburn’s stadium is one of the toughest in the nation to play at regardless of their record. A&M normally has a good showing and South Carolina isn’t nothing to sneeze at.

And Georgia will be playing ND next year and have a home and home against Oregon in 2022.

Clemson's big game next year is with Texas A&M. They do play ND in 2020, then go to Wyoming and UConn. They play South Carolina as their rivalry game.
Maybe I am confused. Are you arguing that Clemson has a tougher schedule than Georgia, or maybe I am misunderstanding?

we should have never got on the schedules thing. We are sidetracking this Clay Webb thread.

Since you all are apparently retarded, I will spell it out one last time.
He is not committing to UGA over Clemson because UGA plays competition that is significantly better on a week to week basis.
I have never argued that Clemson play a tougher schedule. I’ve never said the SEC is worse than the ACC, I don’t know why simply reading comments is so difficult for you all
