Well even then, how many atmospheres are ‘SEC like’ even in the SEC?

Georgia, Tennessee, Auburn, Florida and South carolina all have great SEC atmospheres.

Tennessee is a ghost town every Saturday now.
This sill get better as they get better. Shoot, they seat 100,000

Auburn isn’t much better apart from the odd year they’re good.
Do you really believe this? Of course, we are big rivalry, so it ill always be huge against us.

Florida has never had consistently good atmospheres.

It does when we play them.

Maybe I am confused again. Weren't you asking about why he would come here over going to Clemson? I mean, which of Clemson's opponents do you think have bigger atmosphere's?

He is not committing to UGA over Clemson because UGA plays competition that is significantly better on a week to week basis.

I would not make that argument. I mean I don't know why, and I wouldn't make that argument, anyway. i would make the argument that he would pick us over Clemson because of Sam Pittman. Look at OLine recruiting over the last 3-4 cycles for both teams. Georgia easily out recruits Clemson, and it is because of the OLine Coach, in my opinion.

I don't know that he will pick Georgia. He still has Alabama in the mix, and we all know how tough it is to pull a player Alabama really wants.

But, if he does pick Georgia....in your opinion, why do you think he does it?
Not being argumentative, so don't be defensive. I am genuinely curious.

On the whole, there really isn’t that much of a difference. ACC lacks a second great team but similarly to the SEC, it’s above average to bad from 3-14.

ACC was obviously down this year, but that’s more an anomaly than anything. SEC was down in 2015 and 2016 as well.

Okay. I don't want to get into another argument about strength of conferences, but the ACC has 2 teams ranked in the top 25 while the SEC has 8, so I think there is a big difference.

ETA
Just saw your last part...last year the ACC had 4 teams ranked in the top 25. It really is more the norm and this year being a down year for them.

If he picks UGA, it’s because Pittman is the best OL recruiter in America and UGA are in a decent spot at the moment.

Not because Kentucky is more hostile than a trip to Boston College

Bama and UGA will be full thanks to their success recently, but apart from that you have: Tennessee is a ghost town every Saturday now. Auburn isn’t much better apart from the odd year they’re good. LSU is half full by the 3rd quarter of nearly every game. Florida has never had consistently good atmospheres. A&M even have problems filling up most Saturdays. Teams like Mizzou and SC will fill for Georgia but neither atmosphere is really unique when compared to ACC schools when they host Clemson. Were this 10 years ago I’d agree, but the game day atmosphere across the country has decreased by quite a lot.

You are arguing just to argue now. Vandy is the only SEC without a big time atmosphere. Mizzou maybe. In the ACC, it is the complete opposite. Only Clemson, VT and FSU have a big time atmosphere.

I can agree with this.

Probably not.

Skip through the earlier part. he has made his point clear that he thinks if Webb picks Georgia it is because of Pittman. I don't think too many people (Georgia fans especially) will argue that point with him.

I really don’t care where he goes tbh. If he truly wants to play guard we already have 2-3 of those in this class. I obviously won’t complain if he commits to Bama, because the more the OL the merrier, but I think Things will work out well for both parties if he goes to Georgia and we have that spot for a defensive player.

What position will he play at the next level. He is listed as the #1 center but wants to play guard.

I know Webb has stated he prefers to play OG but his future is probably at center. With Big Ben, Hill and Sayler returning good luck to Webb cracking our 2 deep.

We should rename this thread "Clemson vs Georgia Schedule Analysis."

TideSaint- Just saw where a poster over on 247 that has spot on inside info said that Webb is all Dawg. Just giving you what I've heard. I guess we will have to see where it ends up.

I'm reading some good stuff about Wright here in last couple of days too....

We land Webb, Wright and Haselwood and we might over take Bama for the top class, Dean looks to be 50-50.

I still dont think it'll be possible to overtake them. They would have to have a partial collapse of their class.

Our "insiders" have gone quiet on Webb with all the visit news about him the last 48 hours.

One guy on BOL swears someone close to Webb told him he was Bama bound, but he's just a regular poster not an "insider."

Either way, we'll know in less than a week.
