It’s quite clear the kid doesn’t want to be at South Carolina. This is a classic case of all the support system wanting him at one place and he doesn’t want that.

Maybe just don't take recruiting so personally?
In the end, if the kid wants to be at SCar, I'd rather him go there than be forced by anyone else into going to LSU.

It's easy to get confused when the desparate SCAR beat reporters keep flip-flopping on who (between Burch and his mom) actually want him at SCAR. First it was Burch not wanting to be there but his Mom wanting him to stay home, then it was Burch wanting to be there but his Mom wanting him to go to LSU. They pretty much report (as fact) literally anything that fits the latest set of events stemming from him not signing with SCAR. And here I thought the Texas writers were bad...

Clearly he needs to get away from some controlling forces in his life, going to UGA would still leave them a day's drive away. However, putting a $1000 flight between him and the hang-ons could finally give the guy some peace and quiet.

I'd be willing to bet if he ends up at LSU, momma is coming with him. He isn't trying to get away from his family or he wouldn't have committed to us in the first place. Nobody would've been upset with him if he committed to LSU the first time around.
Doing the whole commitment video, then having a ceremony to sign with Carolina, then not actually signing, is bizarre and it is confusing. And none of us know wtf is actually going on.
