Lets go back before 2010. LSU had these guys drafted at DB:
2009 - 7th round Curtis Taylor
2008 - 3rd round Chevis Jackson
2008 - 4th round Craig Steltz
2007 - 1st round Laron Landry
2005 - 2nd round Corey Webster
2005 - 4th round travis Daniels
If you want to go back further, take it up with the LSU fan who chose 2010.

Matthews very well could develop into an NFL draft pick at Tennessee.
He could but it's just as likely he won't even sign with TN

He was quoting me who I originally posted that stat in another thread on the LSU RB. It was in response to Matthews choosing TN for 1 reason he stated "of how they develop guys for the NFL". I originally thought to myself when I saw that, man it's hard to remember Tennessee DBs since Eric Berry. So I looked up their DBs drafted since Eric Berry (who was drafted in 2010). They had only 4 DBs drafted since Eric Berry. By comparison we've had 20 DBs drafted in the same time frame. That's where all that came from, it had absolutely noting to do with referencing Corey Raymond. LSU has had plenty of DBs drafted outside of Corey Raymond's tutelage as you can tell in the last 2 decades. 26 total DBs drafted from 2005-2022 draft, only half of which Raymond coached.

No that’s not the only guys. Eric Reid, Tyrann Matheui, Tharold Simon. But let’s not forget the DBs that we’re drafted high like Corey Webster, Laron Landry and many others going back further than just 2010. DBs before Pat Pete was still a big thing. They just made it super cool!

No neither is Ron Cooper.
This is the real godfather of LSU's DBU rep.
Patrick Peterson, Mo Claiborne, Tyrann Mathieu, Eric Reid, Chad Jones, Brandon Taylor, Craig Loston, Tharold Simon

Is Corey still there to coach him up?

LSU is still pressing for him regardless.

Didn’t he say something about winning championships lol? He’s about 24 years too late lol.

Well LSU hired a new Head Coach with 30+ years of experience. Who evaluated Corey Raymond and decided to go in a different direction. And if you are talented the NFL will find you wherever you go. The most important thing about Corey Raymond though was that his services was not retained. So can we just stop it with the Corey Raymond BS.

I'm not discounting LSU, they have put a ton of talent into the league since 2010. But you're bringing in all new coaches and a new system. Matthews very well could develop into an NFL draft pick at Tennessee.
A lot of the guys listed were balling out as Freshmen then schools come in to claim they "developed" them

I know its a recruiting tactic and Bama is probably more guilty than anyone of using it, but a lot of these guys were always going to get to the NFL as long as they kept their noses clean. Recruiting guys missing an eval on a guy like Mathieu who came in and balled out immediately doesn't mean LSU "developed" him necessarily even if he was a 3 star.
