What exactly makes you think the OU ol coach is the best in the country?

Now if he’s scared of competition or wants to play right away, I am sure the UGA coaches are saying he could do all of that.
This statement is just remarkably dumb.

Not saying it’s not going to happen, but the OU coaches still feel pretty sold he’s coming to OU. The best offensive line coach is at OU and Raym know this year after watching the draft that all four OU offensive linemen who were draft eligible got drafted. Now if he’s scared of competition or wants to play right away, I am sure the UGA coaches are saying he could do all of that.
a@m fans thought they got dontae manning a few weeks ago after a visit as well. Recruiting season is long either way.
You are without any doubt the only person on earth who thinks OU’s O-Line Coach is better than Pittman.

That’s not true. OU has an excellent line coach and have had an excellent OL over the last few years.
A lot of people who don’t watch OU are unfairly dismissing how good their OL has been here. I was just responding to MOJO who of course made an idiotic comment that he would come to UGA if he was scared of the depth chart despite us having the remarkable amount of skill and talent we do on the OL.

I don’t understand what you’re saying. I think Pittman is better, but if I were an OU fan I would probably think my line coach was the best one in the nation after watching what they’ve done the last few years.
Posted on 6/28/19 at 11:51 am to Dawgsontop34
Just trying to see if you would argue with that too.

They have a very good OL coach, just as UGA does. What he misses by going to OU is the competition in practice vs. our DL and on gameday vs. SEC DL. That's the ad he has in coming to Georgia as far as prep for the NFL. He'd have to be one of the best OL in the past five years to come in and start immediately for UGA right now.

Getting back on topic-
It's been bandied about on our team board that there may be some conflict between the player wanting to go to a particular school and the family wanting him closer to home. It's also possible there will be a decision and commitment in the very near future.

Most recently, still same expected time line on a private decision (the next few days) but public decision announcement pushed out possibly to the week *after* the 4th (as opposed to the expected 2nd/3rd timeframe of late).
UGA still likes their chances, but it certainly sounds like between family or OU commits, someone is trying to make it a harder decision. This is pieced together between OU and UGA insider comments as well as more word of mouth from people close to the program that don't "post publicly"...
Guess we'll see what wins out. It's still a long way to go until signature time, regardless of how it goes down in the coming weeks.

I am not trying to degrade UGAs O line coach. I just said if wants to come to the best offensive line coach it’s at OU. Results are what they are we have had a dominant Oline which won Joe Moore award for nations best Oline and easily could of won it the year before. How soon you forget how we gashed you in the Rose Bowl running. UGA had a great day defense that year. The entire offensive line was drafted in first four rounds. If you have watched the draft they have commented about how he’s the best Oline coach also. UGAs Oline seems to be good every year as well and with your recruiting it’s only going to get better. Still waiting on Raym to commit....

OU lost the game. You lose the ability to brag when u lose. Also, OU didn’t do a damn thing after Georgia’s halftime adjustments. How did running the ball work for OU in OT? How many times did your Oline let baker get hit after halftime adjustments? Did your oline allow the pressure that led to baker’s pick? How many more years are you going to get bounced in the first round of the cfp?

They still scored 38 points in regulation against our defense.
Their offense was very very good, and even better this year.

There is no question OU had a really, really good OL the last two years - 4 guys drafted this year and Orlando Brown the previous year. No question.
Having said that, not only is Sam Pittman great OLine coach, but he is a THE BEST OLINE Recruiter - and probably THE BEST recruiter PERIOD that is an assistant coach - and that is part of the overall evaluation.
Sam Pittman is stacking 4/5-star offensive linemen right now like Paul Bunyan stacks cords of wood. UGA's Backup OL is likely better than 80% of Power 5 teams starting OLine.
There are probably a handful of OLine coaches as good as Pittman in college football but when you throw in the recruiting with the coaching, he is without equal and stands alone.

Me personally thinks OU can land pretty much anyone they want at OL.i am sure Georgia feels the same way. UGA lately has been dominant in recruiting offensive lineman. I saw a game last year where OU pushed Texas around. I saw a game where UGA did not push anyone around. Recruiting is a crazy game but results have to matter and as of right now OU is just out resulting Georgia in draft picks and on the field production at OL.

So you’re basing your evaluation on one game. Good to know. We’ll see how many guys we have drafted this year with two possible first round tackles.

OU was able to run against UGA in the first half because y’all had the threat of a passing game. UGA nearly average 10 yards per carry without the threat of a passing game, which was vastly more impressive. UGA’s line has done better against better competition.
