I don't think there were character issues at all. Just weird the way a 4 star DE at that school didn't really get the serious interest that you'd expect. There was some chatter about him on our pay site back around the ESD, folks were noticing a 4 star DE that was still undecided so they started asking about him and whether or not we were interested. TN signed his teammate(D. Bailey) and offered several younger kids at that high school so we were there a lot. I think reading between the lines there, the thought by many was "why are we at this high school routinely checking in on our committed player and working on the younger kids, and not really trying to get this 4 star DE". I remember reading Pruitt saying something about watching that HS practice was similar to watching an NFL practice with all the talent they had all over the field.

Okay...my post was about his recruitment being fairly weird. He was committed to LSU, then either backed off that or was told to; and no one really went after him all that hard when he did. He's a 4 star DE on a loaded HS squad and wasn't really garnering the attention you'd think he would knowing that. Great pick up for the rebs though. If he puts on a few lbs, he could be fun to watch.

Clowney has offers from LSU, Clemson, Georgia, Michigan, Penn St. etc.

Jermy lost to Georgia State in year 2.
