Composite rankings don't apply to MSU, because one service doesn't even really cover MSU, and the other doesn't stay on top of things. They're worse now than they were a decade ago.

Rivals still ranks the players whether MSU has a fansite or not. Either way it's a great pick up. Will be an interesting battle until signing day.

I will say, Mississippi kids are mostly grossly underrated by ranking services along with lots of Louisiana kids, mostly due to the rural nature of our states, but lowly ranked kids from both states routinely “ball out “ on lots of rosters on a yearly basis.

Rivals doesn’t have someone that covers the state of Mississippi. Case In point, Kylin Hill was a 94 4* on 247 number 6 RB in the country but a 91 composite because Rivals had him as a 5.5 (almost 2*) number 28 RB in the country. They are that bad with Mississippi kids.
