Not a splash commit, but a quick first step and the ability to make OLs whiff on him. Needs at least 25 lbs. to really be competitive.

Doesn't have a bull rush because he's too light, but he's quick enough to make OLs miss, can chase people down before they turn the corner, and has the speed to run plays down from the back side. Not saying he's going to be a star, but if he can put on some size/strength while maintaining his speed, he could be good. Didn't know that this was his first year of football. That makes him even more impressive. Also being recruited by Texas and has an offer from Auburn.

Where do you see that? LSU has 3 and should Ricks commit, 4 five star (top 25) players as per ON3, alone. Guess it varies with whatever site you’re using.

And Jayvon Thomas is sitting at 101 and was in the Top 100 most of the year.

Yeah, we took a chance on a 3* WR a few years ago that was only a basketball player until his junior year of high school. Mike Evans. It seems to have worked out OK.

With the transfer portal it's a lot less risky play on "projects", if they don't pan out it's a 2 year vs 4 year scholarship and they process out and get replaced by someone who can contribute.
