Give Mullen time. It's been a rocky start, but he'll probably get it turned around. And even if he doesn't get recruiting back to an elite level, at least you know he can coach up the guys he's got.

If you’re going to be a dick at least own it, we all know what you are doing those aren’t his only offers. Virgina Tech and Louisville have too. Not that they are elite but they don’t help you be a dick.

The only thing holding Mullen back is his odd personality, he just rubs people the wrong way, assistants and recruits. I don't know if there's anything he can do about that, it's just who he is.
As far as pure coaching ability goes, he's among the best in the business. As far as QB coaching goes, he may be the best.
But his tendency to make people uncomfortable keeps him from being elite. I think if he gets a core of elite recruiters on staff and stays out of their way, he could dominate at Florida.

Right now, this kid is mostly potential based on his stats and actual production. But Fuente and Petrino are two of the best offensive minds in the nation and if they saw enough of him to offer, I like the pick-up.

The last thing I would do is question Mullen on a QB. He is on the same level as Jimbo in QB development. And most of his guys aren’t high profile kids.

And I tend to agree with gator fans. If there is one position Mullen seems to have a good eye for, it is QB.
Wait until it is closer to signing time. He'll probably be right there with good ratings. And, even if he isn't Mullen can get him there.

Good post he is just so damn arrogant, he brought basically his whole staff from MSU with him even though they have no Florida recruiting ties. He just thought he could get elite talent to travel across country to play at Florida during one of our worst runs ever. He let Sieder one of our best recruiters ever go because he thought he didn’t need him, same thing with Drew Hughes that he let get away to you guys, and it all backfired. I just hope the last 6 months has humbled him a bit and he does as you say, cut the dead weight and find some recruiters to come help him. He can be successful if he stops thinking he’s the smartest man in the room and brings in some help to recruit. I just doubt he does. Coaches don’t usually change.

It's not just his arrogance, many of his former assistants have said that they absolutely hated working with him. And a lot of them describe him as just socially awkward. So finding elite recruiters that he gets along with is gonna be a challenge for him.
