With this commitment, Alabama is now #5 in 247 composite rankings for the 2018 class. The 4 teams above Bama have more commitments.
1. Georgia 24
2. Ohio St. 21
3. Texas 20
4. Penn St. 22
5. Alabama 18
6. Miami 20
7. Notre Dame 21
8. Clemson 15
9. OU 20
10. Auburn 20
I believe that Bama will not be able to take the full 25 this year though because of a couple of greyshirts, most notably 4-star DE Jarez Parks who agreed to greyshirt last year and is already with the team and practicing.
Hell yeah, I'll take this class in a down-year for Bama.

If Kirby is going to be locking down Georgia any state with players Saban wants he'll likely get. Saban can cherry pick nationally.

You can’t really lock down a state that produces as much talent as Georgia does. Buy Smart will get most all of them he wants.

True. Same in Louisiana. And, Saban's hire of Golding is a very good chess move. Tangipahoa parish, Golding's home parish, again has some nice prospects for next year.

A lot of people feel that Golding will pay big dividends in Louisiana and Mississippi.
