Thompson, Godwin, and Ledbetter are all at UA. Godwin could be there to recruit Thompson, but I'm skeptical. If the staff really thought that Godwin would be a threat to our recruits they wouldn't encourage him to stay.

Looks like Thompson has been lifting weights with current Bama player Tim Williams.

If all three are there that just further instills my confidence. A commit, a guy we lead for, and then Ledbetter - there's been a lot more smoke surrounding a Ledbetter flip than a Godwin flip. I think we're finally recruiting the right way and Pruitt is trollin hard. JMO, of course, which ultimately amounts to nothing.

Yeah, but they are also hanging around a lot of current players. Doubt the current players would allow someone to be recruiting for another school. Anything's possible though.

And I doubt they'd be doing in front of the current players.

True, but you would think someone would get wind of it. We can't provide any hotel accommodations for camps, so you can bet your arse that they are probably staying in separate dorm rooms with a current player who is outspokenly Pro Bama.

Possible. I certainly don't know the sleeping arrangements of recruits and I wasn't a 4*-5* recruit myself, so I can't really speak on that. I just get the feeling that we'll have to have a pretty poor year to blow this one. Just have to see how it plays out.

Yeah Thompson is all UGA IMO. Godwin intrigues me though.

Thompson- UGA
Godwin- UGA
Ledbetter- don't know much about him but seems he's going anywhere but Bama. Seems like one that Bama is pushing out.

That's my take on these three.

Thompson- All UGA, but may make them sweat it out a little longer than they'd like. It's surprising that he hasn't already committed.

Godwin- I have no fricking clue. Smart and Napier are our recruiters on him, and Napier has an in with the school with his brother being the OC. I think I'll wait out the summer before putting in a pick for him. I want to see where else he visits and how long he stays. As it stands right now, I think he stays with UGA, but NSD is a long way off.

Ledbetter- UGA. We sent Smart to see him this spring, but i wonder if our efforts will be enough. There are rumors that his brother is looking to transfer to UGA. If that happens then he gone. Most recruiting mods seem to think that UGA is the biggest threat.

I saw something posted that was funny on the 24/7 UGA board... Alvin Kamara looks like he will be ending up in Athens after his time at Hutchinson CC. The funny thing about it was that Kamara is back home for a few weeks during the summer- So naturally the thought was to get all of the recruits interested in Bama to be in Athens at the same time as Kamara. Like magic, no more interest in Bama going forward.

Would be a great recruiting mailing.

"We would like to invite you and your family to the UGA program's guest speaker series. In this week's installment, Alvin Kamara will be speaking on the inner workings of the Alabama football program from a player's perspective. He will be available for a Q&A after the event.

The event will take place Friday at Butts-Mehre Heritage Hall. We hope you will be able to join."

Make sure he mentions a piss poor attitude who made NO effort to conform to the team!

That may or be not be true, but I'm pretty sure you aren't qualified to speak definitively on Kamara's effort level.

Wasn't he trying to play through a knee injury?

Do you think the recruiting pitches that were made to him and then him getting immediately redshirted and buried on the depth chart are ok? Why exactly did bama take 4 top 50 running backs in the same class? Seems like a recipe for disaster

Did we promise him immediate playing time or the opportunity to earn playing time? Pretty sure that we didn't even promise Julio Jones immediate playing time. Just the chance to compete. Kamara also knew full well when he committed that there were three other backs already in the class, and an heir apparent to the number one spot (Yeldon) It's not Bama's fault that he couldn't beat out the guys in front of him.

In terms of redshirting, did UGA have anyone they redshirted last year? If so, do you think that player was told that he would redshirt during his recruiting process? Are those players content to be on the bench?

Y'all act like Bama is the only school that redshirts, and that all of the other schools have kids who are excited to be on the bench.

They fell in the category of "too good to pass up". We might end up taking three tight ends this year if our three top targets all want in because they are too good to pass up.

Certainly you would have done anything to have more running backs on your roster last year. It's a position that takes a beating, so it's good to have depth.

I'm not disagreeing with you however his situation was a recipe that ended up with him walking out and obviously he felt like he was dealt a shitty hand for whatever reason. It probably was to good to pass up but it also made a couple of them threaten transfer. We have it happen here it UGA all the time. You guys bash him pretty hard but if you were in that position you probably wouldn't be happy about it either.

And I've seen several UGA posters who white knight for this kid. Answer these questions: Did he know that TJ Yeldon was coming back for his sophomore season? Yeldon had a shite ton of carries behind Lacy, so it was pretty obvious that he was going to be the back to beat in 2013. Drake was also our go-to back in garbage time.

Did he know that we had a running back committed who holds the record for rushing yards in high school?

I'd have more sympathy for Altee Tenpenny or Tyren Jones who committed early in the process and stayed true to their word. Kamara? He should have done some better research. I don't feel sorry for him at all. He knew what he was getting in to, and he did it anyway. I never fault a kid for going somewhere else because of a depth chart if in fact that is valid.

Heck, he could've taken the Eddie Lacy route where he only starts for one year and then goes to the NFL in the second round. Just because we didn't use him last year doesn't mean that he would not have ever seen the field.

For the record, I like UGA. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
