I hope to be in that area for a while later this month if possible. I'm supposed to be flying into Colorodo Spring and driving out to Salida to see my little brother.

My source tells me that we landed a big time kicker last night.

No link, keep it on the DL.

Things you need to know about Carlson:

Kohl's #1 kicker
He's tall and lanky
Looks like a foreigner in person

Oh Salida is a great area, and you should be good to go by then. Hwy 24 is closed right now, but I expect it to open in a couple of weeks.

I am impressed that we are picking up such great ST talent. We have learned just how vital that facet of the game is. Coaching staff doing work.

Special teams are becoming more and important. Still will we sign 25 this year?

Hey you forgot Jason Campbell on your SECQB thread.

Carlson has a ridiculous leg, possibly a better leg than Parkey

I would say on FG's he has a stronger leg than Parkey does but not on KO's. When Carlson puts a KO (from the 30) through the uprights, then we will have an argument.

From quotes, on Dee Liner, from Times Daily (stolen from AuburnSports dot com)...

Non-premium article:
quote:

"I'm 110% commited to Auburn. It gets annoying after a while, but I think it's kind of funny because everybody is going to see where I'm going to go on signing day. The class that we've got? It's going to be a really good defense down there at Auburn."
quote:

Liner even said he expects Foster, who is an Alabama verbal commit and with whom Liner has grown close, to flip to Auburn by the time high school seniors can first officially sign with college programs on Feb. 6.
quote:

On a personal note, Liner said he has gained at least 25 pounds during the offseason and is now up to 284 pounds on his 6-foot-3 frame.
He also just got back from visiting USC, in which he said he was just going for fun.

I thought Foster had said he will be an EE. Will this not be the case now after moving to Auburn HS?

Tidbit regarding Reuben Foster Reply

I saw him downtown at one of the bars having a good time with another recruit (skinnier guy with dreads). A few friends and I chatted with him and took a few pics. He is HUGE and swole. We didn't really nag him on college choices, but he made it pretty obvious Auburn was his leader followed by UGA then Bama (surprised me a little). He also said he loved the Reuben Foster chants at the UGA basketball game a few months back.

P.s. Aaron Murray's sister and one of her friends were ALL over Rueben.

@JHokanson: Daniel Carlson and his parents just got off the phone with Gene Chizik. Carlson is regarded as the nation's No. 1 pure kicker by many.
He has officially commited.
