Bower will likely pull the trigger this weekend or early next week.

He up and "moved" to another High School, where there are other USC committments, after committing to USC. I think we were in pretty tight with him after taking his former teammate, Angelo Blackson, in last year's class, and now there's pretty much nothing there. Plus, you have to look at the fact of USC having Lane Kiffin and Ed Orgeron as coaches. It's a pretty hot rumor in a lot of places on the interwebz. And I'd be surprised if he signed anywhere other than USC.

I'm sure there's someone on here that knows more of the situation.

I had found some articles about this situation when I noticed he wasn't at Red Lion anymore. He was brought in to Red Lion by David Sills III, father of the USC commit (kid that committed in like the 8th grade). They were recruiting kids all over Delaware and Maryland to go to that school, and were kicked out of Delaware's HS association.

Well, the people that started Red Lion grew tired of their association with David Sills and his scouting/training shell organizations. They disassociated from him and reapplied to the Delaware assc.

Sills started a 'Findlay Prep' type team called Eastern Christian in Marlyand, just across the state line from Delaware. He took just about every football player from Red Lion with him to Eastern Christian.

If Blackson were still in HS, he probably would have made the move as well. I don't think it has as much to do with USC as with the Sills guy. He's Marv Marinovich pt 2.

There was a lot of shady stuff going on with all of it, but it seemed more like shady HS sports stuff, not shady recruiting stuff.

ETA: I'm trying to find the articles, I posted them in a Rivals 100 thread on the LSURB but have no idea when I did that.

ETAA: Found my post with the links. The google search on here works ok if you know exactly what you're looking for. link

It really has amazed me what Chizik & co have been able to do since he has been here. He took a program that was in absolute shambles, won a National Title, has recruited as well as anybody, all while Bama is arguably have their best stretch since Bear's prime. Can't help but tip you hat to him.

I like Coach Chizik...he's a good coach...and probably an even better person. I like his demeanor on the sidelines.
