I highly doubt he has a full committable offer.

There's no way for you to know this. IMO, if a player gets singled out on Junior Day and offered, it's probably committable

I don't think any Mobile area kid should be overlooked.

Agree with this, but that doesn't mean his offer isn't committable and the kid isn't good

I don't think what he is trying to say is that the kid isn't good, just that he likes Auburn more and we will probably end up there. It is almost impossible to tell out of the visitors we hosted who has a committable offer. I'm sure Adams, Fulwood, Hill, and many other could have committed on the spot. But we don't really know, Smith or even somebody we haven't even heard of before might have been able to commit as well.

Well if his offer is for QB, you can bet your arse that it would only be committable if the other true QB targets committed elsewhere.

Meaning Browne (the #4 ranked player in the country) and Hackenberg (the #66 ranked player).

Tyren Jones on his visit to Bama:

quote:

"We (Tyren and his family) got there a little early on Saturday, so we were able to talk to the coaches and we then got to sit down with Coach [Nick] Saban. "We talked for a while and he told me that I had an offer from Alabama. He was educating me and my family about Alabama, telling us about the school, the system, the program, and those type of things. It was nice talking to him." Outside of the offer, the educational side of Alabama stood out to the future Scout300 running back. The combination of the offer and the visit has landed the Crimson Tide in Jones' top three. "I am still looking around, but if I had to name a top three right now, it would be Alabama, Georgia, and probably Clemson. Florida could be up there too."

quote:

He plans to visit Georgia again over the summer along with Clemson, Oklahoma State, and as before mentioned, Alabama and Florida. Those visits could lead to an early decision for the back that ran for 2,400 yards and 33 touchdowns last season.

"I might commit at the end of the summer if I am ready. There is a chance that I could commit, but it depends on how I am feeling at that time."

His offer is probably as an ATH that will "get a shot at QB", same as what AU has offered. He's gonna be a WR or DB wherever he goes

All things aside, Jason Smith would never take a snap at QB for Alabama, if he chose to come. He would most likely be a DB, which is his natural position.

Again, I'm watching the title game and I can't help but feel confidence regarding Alabama football moving forward.

The statement comes off as homerish and will be criticized as such by the opposition, but I agree.

Some compare 2012 to 2010, but I don't see it being that similar. More experience in the secondary, an experienced DL save NG, and I never worry about LBs. One of the best OLs and experience at QB. WRs will be inexperienced, but they are talented. And even if the under perform, that's been the trademark of the last 2 NC receiving corps.

If we can garner mediocre NG play then we could be special.
