Jimmy Stein stole my Gotye joke and used it on Nkemdiche instead of Foster If Jimmy thought it was funny, then it probably wasn't

I must be the only one that thinks the RN recruitment is far from over. Just wait for Clemson to have another mediocre season and/or more players arrested.

Nah bruh, you're not the only one. I've said the same thing for years, everyone is equal in the summertime. When football season gets here, that's when Bama will separate themselves from the rest of the pack. If he does, he does and if he don't, he don't. The success of Alabama football doesn't hinge on 1 player anymore.

Na, no homer but I feel like we still have a great chance to get him. Whenever he goes on visits he always gets extremely high, no pun intended. Last time he was in Ttown a lotta people(Foster) thought he might commmit because he was having so much fun and talking up UA to recruits. Same thing when he went to LSU. His Clemson trip I'm sure he had the same experience, but his buddies committing tipped him over.

I hate when poeple say this, but it's a long ways until NSD.

I've never understood why this would scare recruits? If they don't break the law they don't get arrested. It's like they're anticipating breaking the law when this is a factor in what school they choose.

I posted this a couple pages back. For now he is solid to Clemson, but it is not even close to over with him yet.

quote:

Many people were surprised when the nation’s No. 1 recruit, Loganville (Ga.) Grayson defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche Thursday afternoon.

His head coach at Grayson, Mickey Conn, wasn’t so surprised, saying that the commitments of fellow Grayson players and good friends David Kamara and Wayne Gallman played a big role. Gallman had committed earlier in the recruiting cycle, while Kamara [Nkemdiche’s best friend] gave his commitment late Wednesday.

Conn also said that Clemson’s family atmosphere played a big role.

“I was a little surprised, but in many ways and overall I wasn’t,” Conn told TigerNet Friday. “I think Dabo and his staff are a great staff, and they made them all feel like they were at home. With his best buddy David committing and Wayne Gallman committing, he wanted to be with his friends in a family atmosphere and he felt like Clemson was that kind of place for him.”

Conn drove Nkemdiche and Kamara up to Clemson from Loganville for the visit, and said it really didn’t take long for Nkemdiche to realize he had found a home.

“He just wanted me to take him up there, and once he got there, he said, ‘This is the place I want to be.’ I told him to make sure he was sure,” Conn said. “I told him this was a big decision, and then I know that Dabo talked to him about it to make sure. Sure enough, he made the decision to commit.”

Nkemdiche’s recruitment won't stop with his verbal to the Tigers – all of the big-time programs covet his size, speed and athleticism – but Conn said he doesn’t know what to expect at this point.

“I really don’t know,” he laughed. “I’ve never coached the number one player in the country before. I am finding out about all of this as I go along.”

Conn said he knows that schools will still be going after Nkemdiche with a vengeance, but he doesn’t see him changing his mind.

“There are a lot of things that can happen during the course of a football season,” he said. “Things change. But I think he made his choice, and he loves it there. I think this is what he really wants to do, and as long as things stay the same, he will stick to it.”

Conn said the Tigers are getting an NFL-caliber talent.

“They are getting a player that can do several things,” he said. “I know they want him as a defensive end, and they are also going to play him at running back in short-yardage situations. He is an impact player immediately. They are looking at a guy that, in my opinion, will be a first-round draft choice in the NFL after three years.”

thx for the link. I was under the impression Conn was unaware of the commit at 1st and did not go on the visit.

Lots of arrests could mean thug teammates, an overzealous local police force that targets athletes, and/or a coaching staff that doesn't have the respect of the team. There are plenty of reasons it could be seen as a red flag.

Anyways, it looks like the staff has an oppurtunity to make up ground on Gilmore and Adams this weekend. I REALLY hope that we pick up a commitment from Walker sometime this weekend also.

This is one recruit that I've wanted for a long time, hopefully he shows up and opens up to UA

Anyways, looks like AJ's trying to get Waka to one of our games. Cant wait to see the jersey. Dont think Waka's going to responde, even after he dropped the "ima QB for bama" line, lol.

I think Gilmore is LSU bound but if we offer on his visit then you never know. He was very high on Bama at one point and here's a pic of him from last month.
