I haven't said anything particularly testy. But clinging to the 08 game would be like me clinging to the 07 or 03 or 02 game. Alright, it sucked for us, but theres nobody even on the team anymore from that game

The down side of that is how many of the future recruits remember when UGA was good and ranked as high as they were when they walked into that blacked out stadium?

The only one on there I can remember our fanbase giving a damn about was Dickson. Didn't pay attention to any of the others (I guess Lee, but only because of his brother) during recruiting. But I guess good for Carpenter since he was 1st round in the Draft

Well all of them were persued by Richt(not sure if Carpenter was. A Hubb will be a starter for us this year, Warmack is about to be a 3 year starter for us and will be a 2nd round pick this year, and Washington is currently in the league.

It's safe to say that UGA could have used all of those players.

Not getting kids like Carpenter and Warmack is a big reason they haven't been as good lately as they were in the first 5 or 6 years under Richt.

Eh. We're good without Dickson, Hubbard, and Lee (LB is our most stacked position, though i'd still love to have Dickson). Carpenter would have been nice, but RT was the least of our worries when he was eligible

Warmack has turned into a complete stud. And it sounds like Hubbard is the next big thing on Bama's defense.

Foster will be obvious, but Lee is going to be special and Tyren Jones can be somethin' else.

Georgia been go to CNS.

You dont think Warmack will go in the first? I know hes not a left tackle but the guy is fricking dominant.

If he is regarded as the best guard in the country, maybe late first. He isn't versatile though, which is what a guard usually needs to be to go in the 1st. Some team will be getting a damn good player though.

I see no reason why not getting/pursuing kids like Warmack and Carpenter has contirbuted to the past 5 years. It has purely been a substandard coaching and S&C issue. UGA has always drawn in top quality athletes, but they weren't put in the position to succeed at the highest level. Isn't that the entire reason behind everyone (both rivals and UGA fans) thinking Richt is mediocre? Because his coaching staff was subpar and so was his strength staff?

If i was in charge of UGA football id fire Richt and hire Skip Holtz. I know yall guys fancy Kirby Smart, and why he wouldnt be a bad choice, Skip is just one hell of a fine head coach and is more proven.

You had me interested in what you were saying until this point here. Between the contract negotiations falling through and some of Kirby's unsavory recruiting tactics against UGA, Kirby is about as welcome at UGA as Muschamp. We'd be better served to just keep Grantham as HC rather than take on Kirby

Great point... Not exactly a shortage of talent on the UGA roster. I think it has more to do with CNS excelling at developing talent than it does CMR being awful at it. But he could certainly do better.

I guess S&C might have something to do with it, but your O-line has seemed about as soft as baby food the last 3 or 4 years.

OL has been a combo of poor S&C (fixed now) and a perilous lack of quality depth (getting better, but still needs help)

I could agree with this. But I also think it has to do with Richt being too slow to make the needed changes. Willie Martinez should have been gone after 08 at the absolute latest

Your problem is Rich and his recruiters have lost their mo-jo and are not able to eval players like Saban and his bunch. And your side cain't close. UGA used to never lose a player in state that they needed, same thing with LSU. Saban doesn't want every good player that your school is after, but he is going to make a run at the ones he wants, and will sign some.
I'm a old man, I've been around the world,I've seen Big Ben,I've seen Paris,I even saw a man screw a goat down in Lee County, but I ain't never seen anything like what Saban is putting together in T-town. Make it stop...

Already have gone through this with your fanbase, what you guys believe happened, and what I believe happened are night and day.

Also, I've got a good buzz on so I'm limited to 1 or 2 sentences per post.

ETA: hince the ETA.
