I will say this, Earnest got way overrated last year. He was suppose to be a top 5 player in the state and one of the top WRs in the southeast. Come this year, he's not either of those things. There is a lot of belief he's not even the best WR in the state.
I'd definitely give him a look at H-Back. He's nothing rare at WR, he may run a 4.48, but he sure doesn't show it. I could see the possibility of Bama trying to recruit him there before they cancelled. They probably got great enough vibes from Howard and McNeil to cancel any backup plans...

I haven't seen, read, or heard anything on his blocking abilty, but with his body like it is, it's hard to believe his physicality wouldn't translate to blocking on the field.

There aren't many wide receivers, coming out of High School, that know how to run all routes. They all need coaching. I'm sure he needs things touched up. So will Eddie Williams, JaQuay Williams, RiCardo Louis, Chris Black, etc.
By all accounts, his hands and acrobatic catching abilty make him the prospect he is. Just look at his first catch on this highlight film (I don't know what the frick happened with the rest of the video, it just went fuzzy). And I am fully aware that he was called out of bounds on that play. I also threw in a second LINK of some more catches.

Because he's not objective. The coach is always gonna lobby for the kid, no matter if he's trash or a good kid. What do you expect him to say? pretty obvious.

Coaches never trash their players publicly. At least coaches who aren't morbidly obese with a major foot fetish.
I have seen a lot of insider types say that a major reason we told Robinson not to come to our camp was the fact that he has some serious character issues.
