What's up with Ryan Jenkins? He said Jenkins got skyped by Saban with his family and received an offer but I.didn't see it on rivals. Maybe conditional?. He was really excited but his brother goes to Clemson and he is really interested in UCLA

It could be a camp offer, has to come to camp and be personally evaluated to validate his offer.

I'm not the biggest fan of such a position specific recruit such as him, as they consider him a slot WR right off the bat. Bama has another slot prospect committed in Deon Johnson, but Johnson could project to a few other positions because of his speed and size.

Johnson is a grade risk though, so if they are hellbent on bringing a slot WR, I'd bet it would be Jenkins...

That's a compliment to him if true. Saban like his CBs over 6 foot and running at least a 4.5. Depending on which service you believe, he fits it.

I'd like to see more of him this year, as this past season he did a lot of blocking and had part time freshman QB. Granted, that QB is suppose to be one of the best in 2015, but he was still a freshman.

He reminds me a bit of Zach Miller size and play wise right now. Miller is a good blocker and, when used right, had the knack of of picking up yards after contact. He might be a little more athletic than Miller though. I hope they flank him out more this season(although he's devastating as a inline blocker), Tyler can really work the short stuff with his size to shield and his strength to break the initial tackle.

He does like DE/LB though, which he could probably play if he wanted. Just like OJ Howard could play defense and do really well. It's all about final preference...

Which one?

Just kidding...you're talking about the one with the Raiders right...and not the Jags.
That's good insight...if he does end up like Miller-- we're getting one hell of a TE...

Trust me, I almost made that mistake in a FF draft

I didn't want to go with a Gronkowski comparison, it's sort of taking the easy way out by saying he plays like the perfect TE. Although Tyler didn't show a lot of deep ability, must was catch and run. Gronk can surprisingly beat a few LBs and DBs for a deep catch more often than he should at his size.

I do like how he fully knows how big and strong he is and plays like it. It's so taken for granted, they assume just because they are big, they aren't threatened by smaller players. Bama has 2 on the roster in Vogler and, to a lesser extent, Big Mike Williams. Vogler had all the size out of HS, but he played much smaller as a pass catcher and a blocker. BMW does fine blocking, but at times he doesn't attack the ball like a 6-7, 270 pound TE and break smaller tackling attempts often. What's the point of being that big if you can't break tackles from 5-10, 180 pound CBs? Momentum does play a factor, but it's not like he's at a complete stop either.

Like a boss. love that guy...
Maybe, under Nuss, we will utilize our TE's more like the PATS...(here's to hoping)

Hernandez isn't the blocker Tyler Luatua is. At the same time, Luatua isn't near the athlete Hernandez is. If New England wouldn't have signed 8 million WRs this offseason, I could have seen Hernandez playing a lot more WR.

The combo works fantastic together, but Hernandez loses a lot more when Gronk is out than the reverse. Ideal H-Back though, even more ideal F-Back. If Norm Chow had him or if Norv Turner had him way back in Washington, AH would have allowed that position to stay more prevalent.

In our offense, I'd rather have the blocker. Luatua is one of those guys who is out there on a mission to hurt the first guy he gets to hit.

I do see them keeping Welker and Lloyd and letting the other 7,999,998 fight it out for the other 2 spots . 5th WR spot goes to Slater...who's a special team specialist...

Yep, it's scary to think Bama could possibly have him at TE and someone like OJ Howard at H-Back. They would play off each other well, much like the previously mentioned duo. I like that Howard, despite being perfectly ok with being an H-Back, is still striving to show out as a WR.

I'm excited to see what the plan is for the position this year, will they have certain packages that accentuated the strengths of Harrison Jones and of Brent Calloway? and where does the slot WR come in, as it was stressed in the Spring Chris Jones would be in the slot and that he'd see the field a lot. H-Back is the position to sub out for the Slot, so which will be seen more?

Or does Chris Jones claim an outside spot and moves inside as the slot in certain situations, thus filling the need to give him playing time and have him in the slot?

I look forward to the new passing offense. Hopefully Nuss is a little more creative than McElwain. Especially in the red zone. I know UW got great production out of the TE position last year. I would like to see that out of Williams this year.
