Recruiting is beginning to pick up for Dothan (Ala.) Northview cornerback Marquez White, one of the Yellowhammer State’s best defensive backs. The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder who holds offers from the likes of Ole Miss, Minnesota, Memphis, Southern Miss, is receiving considerable interest from Alabama and Florida State, and spoke with head coach Nick Saban on Saturday.
“It was the first time I’ve talked to him over the phone, but I’ve talked to him in person at camp before since he was my position coach. We worked one-on-one last year and this time it was more about me coming to play ball there,” said White.
“It was real humbling. I asked him a lot of questions about where I would fit in his secondary and he said I’d be at corner especially with man on man. He said I’d fit good in the system because they like to play a lot of bump and run and I have long arms.”
Alabama assistant Jeremy Pruitt is recruiting White for the Crimson Tide and the two share a relationship that dates back to White’s ninth grade year.
“Me and Coach Pruitt go back. He hasn’t changed any. I know he’s genuine and that he’s been interested in me coming to play ball for them at Alabama.”
An early June visit to the Capstone is next up for White, who grew up an Alabama fan.
“I’m visiting on June 3rd. They told me they want me to do one day of camp and then visit with Coach Pruitt and tour the campus for the rest of the days. I like how Alabama gets pro-style players. You can tell that all their coaches know what they’re doing, love their jobs, and love their kids. I’d have a good shot of making it to the next level.”
White has a grade of 86 from 247Sports, making him a three-star prospect. He also stars on the hardwood for Northview, averaging 19.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game as a junior.

Thomas because we already know Henry is commiting to us.

Getting Thomas would make me worry less about Foster, so hopefully it's Thomas.

don't really want though, rather have Cook, but what do I know?
We could add him as a bball commit & walk-on the fball team

Hes a scrub. Cant even get a Michigan offer with his brother bitching about it on twitter.

I can tell. His offer list includes Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Minnesota, Ball State, Buffalo, Northern Illinois and now Cal.

I'm surprised Cal is offering him without a commit from Braylon as well.
