Im tired of hearing about OJ Howard. I think he is the best TE in the class rivaled with Breneman, but Alabama put a former high school QB from a private school in Tuscaloosa into the NFL. If he wants to lose for 4 years we wont even think about him. As much as I would like to have an athlete like OJ at TE and I want him to stay committed, let someone else take his spot to line up for the NFL draft.

Some dude on BOL is claiming OJ Howard is going to Big Cat this weekend.
Even though it hasn't been said, I think many could see it was going to happen. Wouldn't be shocked if Foster shows up as well

Like Saban told Julio, we are going to win with him or without him.

I thought it was already kinda known that he would be there?

Spoken to numerous sources this spring and summer .... people that are close to Coach Saban.
The general consensus is that Saban has mellowed to some degree and his having the most fun of his career -- and this was happening before this past season's BCS Title.
The general consensus is that he will coach another 8 to 10 years. I tend to agree with that timetable.
He is very aware of where his legacy and where it stands now and what it could be.

I agree, people that think he is gonna hang it up in the next few years are just silly IMO.
I know Robot does, but...

There's talk that OJ Howard will decommit from Alabama during the BCW.
No idea how true that is.

I wouldn't doubt it, with him saying he is 50/50. I'd like to get the guy, but he seems like he likes Auburn more in his heart.

I'd be thrilled if he coached for 10 more years. Even a slowed down, mellow Saban is still better than anything else we could get.
I have just known a lot of people like Saban, and they all fricking hate being unable to do things perfectly.

OJ and Reuben committed on the same day and they've been a pain in the arse ever since.

I'd could seem him quitting if he gets to the point he can do his best anymore. But I don't see him planning on quitting at this point.
As long as he is healthy and still has the energy he is going to keep coaching. And I could see that being for another 8 years.

Link? Where is this coming from?
And that is pretty stupid to wait to the weekend to decommit if you know it is going to happen. Why wouldn't you just decommit when you know you are going to?

I never understood why OJ committed. From day one he was saying he was going wait and see how people used their TEs ect. He's always sounded soft.

I could see their staff wanting him to wait until they have a big recruiting weekend to add excitement. Staffs do it all the time.

Admittedly, when I heard he was looking to retire in a few years it was before the tornado, and I have heard that he has realized that he can do more than just be a football coach since then. So it would definitely make sense that he would want to stick around longer.
