Qb transferring out.
It just happened to Alabama, brah.
Tyrik Rollison is the only recent one I can think of from Auburn, and that was due to horrible grades. Before that, you have to go all the way back to Steven Ensminger transferring to Louisiana Tech, but he sucked. That was in 2006.

How effective will Bateman be, and when will he start?
These are all questions that none of us can answer. I certainly don't see (which is my personal opinion) Nick Saban trotting a true freshman out at quarterback next season if McCarron goes PRO this year. Knowing that, the job might be a toss-up between Ely or Morris. And let's say it is just for shits and giggles; would Bateman want to sit behind them until they graduate? Ely will be a sophomore next season and Morris a redshirt freshman.
Saban will start whoever the best player is. Doesn't matter if he's a true freshman or a 5th year senior.

That little bitch needs to go grab ahold of his mother's tit and start sucking. He's such a little count.

AJ was an injury away from starting as a true freshman at the end of the 09 season.
That's what my super secret inside source told me at the time.

Alabama landed arguably it’s most pivotal commitment of the class of 2013 last week when Salt Lake City (Utah) Cottonwood quarterback Cooper Bateman selected the Crimson Tide over the likes of Auburn, Florida, LSU, Washington, and others.
While Bateman’s commitment came a little earlier than some expected, Cottonwood offensive coordinator Scott Cate says his star passer's choice was the product of a detailed analysis of each program in contention.
“He did a really nice job evaluating all the schools. We were able to get him out to several of the SEC schools, several of the Pac-10 schools. So he was able to go through everything,” said Cate.
“We’ve literally had everybody in every day for the last two months. Guys were able to come in and see him throw and he was able to do some investigation on them. There was a pretty meticulous breakdown of what, where, why as far as depth charts, coaching, and everything. It was pretty by the book. We set a date before June to have a decision.”
That decision came on last Tuesday night after the four-star quarterback consulted with his family and subsequently informing the coaches of the finalists.
Quote:
“He really got to the point where he had talked to everybody and double checked with everybody and he just sat down with his family and said, ‘you know what, the place where I want to go is Alabama.’ He wanted to call a lot of the coaches that were recruiting him hard. He felt it was really important to go talk to them first. He’s a real class kid. He doesn't feel entitled to anything.”
The transfer of former Alabama quarterback Phillip Sims made the Crimson Tide’s depth chart at quarterback that much more attractive to Bateman.
“There’s no question (it played a role). We really researched depth charts and think he has a very nice chance of going in there and helping Alabama. If he does all the right things and learns the game, he has as good of a chance of anybody of going in there and helping them. LSU was very similar and Auburn was similar. It was interesting to me with the SEC, being from the West that, you seem to get great quarterbacks and the depth behind them gets a little thin.”
Cate feels Bateman is the complete package, both athletically and mentally.
Quote:
“He breezes through high school with a 3.8 in tough classes. People talk about his intangibles- I’ve coached a bunch of D1 guys, as far as quarterbacks and stuff, but what people don’t understand is that he legitimately runs a 4.5. He’s that fast. The other day he won his weight class in the state of Utah for powerlifting. He powercleaned 305. He’s a 10’3 broad jumper. I don’t run him because all our backups are really young, but the kid is a tough-minded athlete. Physically, he’s just a puppy. He’s going to be 225 pounds and is going to be able to run.
“But what makes him special is he’s so smart. I make adjustments for him and he can literally figure what the adjustment is, whether it’s mechanical or mental, and then will never make the mistake again. Mentally, he’s as smart as you’ll find out there. He’s had 7 interceptions in two years and four have been at the end of a half or at the end of a game. He just doesn’t throw picks. I’ve been around a long time and I’ve never seen anything like it.”
Bateman runs a complex no huddle offense at Cottonwood and has the liberty to call run plays and make several checks at the line of scrimmage.
“I probably allow him to call 70% of the run plays based off alignment and through what we scout. We run a no huddle, fast offense, and he’ll run 70% of the run plays with me just saying ‘here’s the formation and you make a run check.’
Quote:
“We’re a pure college situation in terms of trying to run what they run. Even if we call a play, my quarterbacks only hear the play- they have to pick the side and then come to the line with a run/pass check. Cooper’s not just out there saying ‘I have the play.’ What’s amazing about the kid is we’ll do our film evaluation after the game and he has an answer for what he was trying to do at the time.”
Alabama’s June camp and the Elite11 finals in Redondo Beach, California are next up for the future early enrollee.
“We’re going to Bama’s camp in mid June,” said Cate. “He wants to go back and kind of see if he can get some guys in. He’s going to do a really good job with that. Everyone likes him and he’s a really nice kid. I’ve coached him since he was in eighth grade and he’s exactly what you see 24/7. He’s a really humble kid.”
Bateman has a grade of 95 from 247Sports and is ranked as the nation's no. 4 pro-style quarterback and no. 48 prospect regardless of position. He was the 12th of 13 commitments for Alabama and is Nick Saban’s first commitment from the state of Utah.

Does Bama have a mid June camp? I thought our June camp was June 2-4?

Didn't come in at 17, went to JuCo a yr and enrolled at Cal as a Soph, but he had a cannon arm and ran in the 4.6 range, Tedford groomed him I agree, but Coach Nuss will do the same with Cooper I have no doubt
