I too expect Taylor to be back at NG come August. He needs lots of work with pad level and hands but he also has a big upside. Lake already has good hands and pad level he just needs time in Cochran's office. Thomlinson is the 3rd freshman I talked about earlier that I expect to get a good look at NG.
Davlin with his wrestling background has the ballance and the hands. He has very good quickness and strength. All he really needs is time at the training table to put on some additional weight.
With those three plus Wilson Love and Ivory, I think we will be set at NG for a couple of years before we have to start looking at the JUCO route.

And as far as how we finish, i'll say this
QB- Riley Ferguson
RB-
WR-
TE-Josh McNiel
OL-Deon Mix
DL-Demarcus Walker, DeAsian Richardson, Nkemdiche
LB-Walker Jones, Johnathan Allen
DB-Vonn Bell, Mo Smith
I think all our other commits come from guys we haven't heard of yet or aren't ringing out on boards a lot.

I think with how late he came into the picture, it wasn't necessarily Bama going the JuCo route for a WR. Rather them stumbling upon a something that could help the team.

The depth chart sheet all the coaches got at the coaching clinic had Tomlinson as a Jack at the bottom of the list for incoming freshman. I saw the sheet, but doubt he will ever see Jack. WeaksideDE IMO.

He's already up to 270. No way he plays Jack.

Wilson has the mean streak we all wish his brother had. I see him being a 4th/5th year contributor much like Gentry was this past year.

He doesn't have the talent though. He used to get his shite pushed in by Spencer Region of all people. And I can't take him seriously as long as he's taking pictures with his brother making the duck face.

Washington (D.C.) Friendship Academy has become a must stop for college coaches in the last two years with the school featuring the likes of Florida State signee Eddie Goldman along with top 100 offensive tackle Derwin Gray and three-star linebacker Yannick Ngakoue in the 2013 cycle.
Tabor was recently given a high four-star grade of 97 from 247Sports.
Class of 2014 cornerback Jalen Tabor is next in line for the emerging program and already has double-digit offers from the likes of Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn, Clemson, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Florida State, and Notre Dame, several of which have been by so far this spring.
“A few of the schools that have been by are Georgia, Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Maryland, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina, Miami, and Syracuse. A lot of schools have been by so far,” stated Tabor.
Tabor currently has a top two of Alabama and Tennessee. Tide assistant Lance Thompson was by Friendship last week to check on the 6-foot-1, 181-pounder.
“Alabama and Tennessee are at the top right now. What stands out to me about Alabama is Coach Saban’s history with defensive backs in college and at the pro level. They’ve won a lot of games and it’s a great tradition at Alabama. Coach Thompson is a real, real cool coach and a good guy off the field. Those two, Coach Thompson and Coach Saban, are a lot of the reasons why I want to go to Alabama.”
The 247Sports Class of 2014 All-American has already visited Tennessee a few times and likes several facets of the Volunteer program, including new defensive coordinator and area recruiter Sal Sunseri.
“Coach Sunseri was at Alabama and brings that same type of mindset to the defensive side of the ball. He’s real tough. Coach (Derek) Dooley and the cornerback’s coach (Derrick Ansley)- they’re all real good people. I feel real love down at Tennessee. I’ve been down there twice. They have a big stadium and are in the SEC. You couldn’t ask for much more.”
Maryland is another program in the mix for Tabor, who is attracted to the proximity of College Park along with the potential for early playing time.
“After those two, it would probably be Maryland next. They’re the hometown school and are right down the street from my neighborhood. With early playing time, I feel like I could go in there and play. The coaching staff is real cool- Coach (Randy) Edsall, Coach (Lyndon) Johnson, and the defensive coordinator (Brian Stewart)."
Tabor has yet to set any other visits, but hopes to get to Tuscaloosa during the summer.
“I don’t have anything planned right now. Alabama would be the first visit I want to take.”
The Washington D.C. standout was recently ranked as the 3rd best prospect and no. 20 overall prospect in the class of 2014 by 247Sports. As a sophomore, he recorded 27 tackles, 8 interceptions, and one defensive touchdown en route to being an All-Metro selection.

I started a thread on BOL asking for Charles Powers opinion on who he likes as our QB for this class. This is what he had to say:
quote:
Hard for me to answer, since I don't look at it from a fan's point of view, but if you're asking who I think is the top prospect UA is targeting at QB, then I'd say Cooper Bateman, based off what I've seen on film.
I posted this a while back pertaining to Bateman's film and my opinon hasn't changed any from then- first, he has a solid fundamental base in terms of his throwing motion, release, and footwork. Arm strength on short to intermediate passes is well above average and borderline outstanding when driving the ball down the field on deeper routes. Probably the two biggest things that stand out to me is the ball placement on throws to every quadrant of the field coupled with the timing he has with the WR's. He's throwing less-than-elite WR's open down the field consistently. As national analyst Gerry Hamilton noted after seeing Bateman at the Elite11 regional in Dallas- he's a natural passer.
Competition is going to be the biggest question Bateman faces moving forward. I don't place a ton of value on it when you consider other top quarterbacks like Max Browne and Shane Morris aren't facing world beaters on a weekly basis either. Regardless it's still something that Bateman is going to have to prove, as Utah isn't known as a cradle of quarterbacks and the DB play in some of this film leaves a lot to be desired.

If we can land Tabor and Humphreys at CB for next years class, that would be fricking epic.

Raheem Falkins, three-star wide receiver from New Orleans-Carver, La., committed to the University of Alabama in late January. He talked about the start of spring practice and recent visit to Tuscaloosa.
"We started practice on Monday," said Raheem Falkins. "It’s been exciting. I am just trying to become a better football player. I am running good routes. I am helping the incoming freshmen.
"We had a couple of coaches out there. I know Memphis was out there for sure. Alabama hasn’t visited yet. I am pretty sure they are coming soon."
Falkins attended the Tide’s annual A-Day game in April.
"The visit for the spring game felt like home," he said. "It was nice. The crowd was wild. The most impressive thing was just walking down the street and seeing thousands of fans. It was unbelievable.
"The coaches were telling me to keep working hard. They can’t wait for me to sign with them. I was impressed with all the players up there. They told me they are going to show me things I’ve never done before when I get there."
The 6-foot-4, 195-pound prospect will return to Tuscaloosa for summer camp. He does not have any interest in flirting with other schools.
"There are still a few schools recruiting me like Ole Miss," Falkins said. "I was supposed to go up to Ole Miss for a visit, but I never took the trip. I don’t plan on taking any visits."

In just the first week and a half of spring football, Dallas (TX) Bishop Dunne has welcomed in more than 100 college coaches for the spring evaluation period. Sophomore cornerback Nick Watkins is a prospect most have taken a liking to. After nabbing an SEC offer last week, Watkins adds another Tuesday.
"My coaches told me that Alabama offered me," reported Watkins Tuesday evening.
"Coach said he really liked me. He liked my size (6'1, 180), my abilities. Honestly, I was surprised. You know, he's been through a couple times, but I really didn't expect him to give me an offer."
'He' as in Alabama receivers coach & recruiting coordinator Mike Groh, who had been by the school once last week and once this week.
"I'm supposed to talk to him and Coach Saban soon and we're going to get a visit scheduled," Watkins noted. "It'll probably be this summer, but oh yeah, of course I'm getting out there."
And while he looks forward to getting to know more about the school and the program, he does know this.
"They're winners. I mean, they won two out of the last three national championships. It's a great program."
Crimson Tide officially join Arkansas and SMU on the safety's plate.
As a source close to Watkins put it, "It's just getting started."

Demarcus Walker, four-star defensive end from Sandalwood High School in Jacksonville, Fla., appeared ready to announce his college decision. Alabama was considered the frontrunner to land his commitment. Walker originally scheduled his announcement for May 24. He has decided to push the announcemnt back to August. Alabama remains the team to beat.
The pressure remains intense to stay in-state. Walker plans to return to Tuscaloosa this summer. It's possible the Tide could lock up his commitment when he visits.
quote:
Maurice Smith, four-star cornerback from Dulles High School in Sugar Land, Texas, was set to announce a decision. He attended Alabama’s A-Day game, and the Tide was on the verge of taking one of the Lone Star State’s best.
Smith has decided to wait to announce his college decision at the Under Armour game in January. Alabama had some success at the game last year with commitments from Landon Collins and Cyrus Jones. Alabama, LSU and Texas A&M are currently the three schools in the mix. The late announcement will give Texas a chance to get back in the race.
quote:
Josh McNeil, four-star tight end from Hillside High School in Durham, N.C., received an offer from Alabama. He has more than 30 scholarship offers from across the country. The offer from the defending national champs has made a significant impact, and it appears Alabama is the favorite to land his signature.
McNeil spoke with Alabama head coach Nick Saban on Monday. He is expected to visit Tuscaloosa for the first time in early June. Florida is also a major contender with a visit to Gainesville also planned in June.
McNeil could possibly make an early decision. He will participate in the Under Armour All-America game in January.
quote:
Cooper Bateman, National 100 quarterback from Cottonwood High School in Salt Lake City, Utah, will return to Tuscaloosa in early June. Bateman has already visited the Capstone with the Tide appearing the team to beat for the nation’s No. 4 signal caller.
Bateman’s entire family plans to visit Tuscaloosa next month. His mother accompanied him on the first trip. His father will join him on this occasion. It’s very possible Bateman is traveling back to Alabama to give the coaching staff his commitment. It is certainly looking that way at this time.
quote:
Jalen Hurd, 2014 athlete from Beech High School in Hendesonville, Tenn., was offered by Alabama last week. He has several scholarship offers including Tennessee who is his childhood favorite. Hurd named Alabama his overall favorite Sunday evening ahead of the Volunteers and expects to make an early decision.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound athlete is hoping for a shot to play running back on the next level. Alabama is currently recruiting as an athlete. He definitely has a chance to rank as the No. 1 prospect in the state of Tennessee next year.
quote:
Cameron Fraser, offensive tackle from Central High School in Phenix City, Ala., will receive a visit Thursday from the Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart The 6-foot-5, 295-pound lineman received his first SEC offer Tuesday from Arkansas. He also has offers from Jacksonville State and South Florida.
Fraser was recently named the OL MVP at the South Showcase Combine in Oxford, Ala. His recruitment is starting to take flight The Alabama coaching staff is hoping to add a few more linemen to this class. An offer will likely not come until at least until after camp, and Fraser does plan to camp at Alabama. He has the Tide among his top five schools.

Jackson Prep quarterback Ryan Buchanan is one of the hottest prospects in the southeast. The talented signal caller has been one of the star attractions in the Magnolia State during the spring evaluation period. With coaches from several programs making their spring rounds, Buchanan has continued to add scholarship offers at a pretty rapid pace.
"I got offered today by the Florida Gators," said Buchanan. "Coach (Brent) Pease came by the school.
"I didn't get to talk to him because they aren't supposed to talk with us when they visit.
"Everything went through my coach and Coach Pease told him that he liked what he saw and that I was someone that was worthy of an offer from them.
"He told my coach that they were offering me a scholarship."
The Gators' offer was not totally unexpected.
"I have been talking with Coach Pease on the phone and on facebook," said Buchanan. "We've been in touch a lot.
"I think they were just waiting to see me in person before they offered me.
"I am definitely going to visit there sometime this summer before I make my decision."
The Gators join a crowded field including Arkansas, Arkansas State, Auburn, Mississippi State, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Southern Miss and Syracuse.
Buchanan has collected three offers in a matter of five days, so the pace of his recruitment is certainly picking up.
"I feel like Tennessee will offer me once I make the effort to visit the campus." said the three star standout. "Alabama has been showing me a lot of interest, but I know they aren't going to offer me until Coach Saban sees me throw in person."The recruiting process has begun to take up more of Buchanan's time, so he has had to put a few things on hold.
"Everybody facebooks me and they want me to call them every week," said Buchanan. "It's been hard to do that lately because we've had so much going on around here.
"I am trying to focus on my academics too since we're right here at the end of the year.
"I'll be honest. I haven't talked to most of the coaches in about three weeks.
"It's not that I am not interested in talking to them. I have just been really busy.
"I am going to stay in touch with everybody and start planning my visits for the summer once we get done with school."
Buchanan denies a favorite at this point. He plans to make the rounds this summer in hopes of making his college decision before the beginning of his senior year.

SI's Early Enrollees
quote:
CB Deion Belue, Alabama
Rivals' Rating: Three stars
Junior College: Northeast Mississippi
The obvious choice for a high-profile Alabama newcomer is running back T.J. Yeldon, a five-star recruit who amassed 179 total yards (88 rushing, 91 receiving) during the Crimson Tide spring game. And Yeldon should see plenty of playing time backing up Eddie Lacy. However, a newcomer who could see even more early action is Belue, a high-impact JUCO transfer out of Northeast Mississippi. Nick Saban needs to replace both Dre Kirkpatrick DeQuan Menzie in the secondary, and while Dee Milliner has one starting spot locked up, Belue has emerged as the favorite to claim the other. Belue registered 24 tackles, eight pass breakups and one interception last season.

Ok I'll give my prediction:
QB: Cooper Bateman, Jason Smith (more of ATH but I'll list him here for now)
WR: Robert Woods, Ryan Jenkins
RB: Alvin Kamara
OL: Kenneth Santa Marina, will likely be another true OT whether it is JuCo or someone who gets lots of interest late and still haven't given up on Austin Gholson either
TE: Josh McNeil, Walker Jones
DL : Robert Nkemdiche, Dee Liner, Henry Poggi, Rod Crayton could be a NG pick-up if we offer
LB: Tim Williams,, Matthew Thomas, Melvin Jones (back-up plan, very high ceiling)
CB: Maurice Smith, Brendan Langley
S: Antonio Conner
That is 16 by my count so still need to lose a few on the list and we likely won't get all, but these are the guys we have the best shot at, wild cards are Demarcus Walker/De'Asian Richardson and/or Vonn Bell
