Thomas hasn really started the recruiting process yet, but is said to have grown up a Bama fan and is a Bama lean early. Scarbrough could end up playing WR, RB, or LB at Bama, it all depends on how big he gets before he steps on campus. I hope we are recruiting Fournette as a RB, but some believe that we are recruiting him as a LB so I'm not really sure on that one.

Andrew Bone believes that Rock Thomas is a 5 star RB, at least in Scout's eyes.

Bone has him in the same mold as Ingram and Richardson FWIW.

More of a hope list than what I think will truly happen. I have enough sense not to put too much grey matter behind thoughts of what a bunch of 17 and 18 year old kids will do in 9 months.

That's odd. I think he will be a solid 4 star back, but no where near the mold of Trent or Ingram. Thomas is much smaller than those two and more of a speed back IMO.

The Elite 11 organizers/coaches actually said the Colombus event was the most talented group they've seen all year. Had a ton of kids from this and next year's class. Not sure I buy it looking at the Dallas list but it's what they said.

This is ludicrous. I bet Dilfer was the one saying this. He likes to promote guys that remind him of himself, which skewers his opinion on the elite QBs.

Yep. That's all my list is basically, based purely of hope and speculation. But that's all we can do at this point, especially with 9 months until NSD 2013.

That being said, what do you think about my prediction?

I think it's very plausible, Robert Foster being the wildcard. Bama could be in it, or they could have no shot. Receiving prospects can be fickle, especially Foster with his " mysterious problems".

To take a crack at it:

Cooper Bateman
Alvin Kamara
Josh McNeil/Hunter Henry
Jonathan Allen
DeMarcus Walker
Henry Poggi
Brendan Langley
Maurice Smith
Walker Jones
Robert Nkemdiche
Kendell Beckwith
Carlos Burse/Ryan Jenkins

Can't decide on the last 2 spots right now, too soon. I could see 3 spots if they feel Johnson is JuCO for sure. I'm not sure Bama takes another OL unless he's a surefire LT. They have a Center, a Guard, and a RT as of now IMO. Could be wrong. I do think a JuCO prospect of some kind will be apart of the class, but I don't know what or who yet.

Burse and Jenkins would love a Bama offer, although they are 2 different types of WRs. Bama does have 2 tall WRs commits working against him getting an offer, and Jenkins has Deon Johnson in the slot to worry about. I'm iffy about offering a player who is already whittled down to a specific position of a position, but Jenkins is solid.

I'm not sure who I prefer with McNeil and Henry, neither are that suited for TE right now. I think they are H-Backs with OJ Howard putting on weight to that huge frame. Henry can jet, way faster than his 40 time. McNeil has that basketball background mystique, which has a lot of schools after him. And history has shown that it can pay off big time.

Ask me again later, I'll probably have an improved list to mull over as we go along. The next few commits could possibly change it or reassure it...

Love the list Magilla. Appreciate the effort.

Again though, no NG prospects. It's not you either. None of us can come up with one.

We've won 2 NCs with dominate NG play and we haven't been able to consistently recruit that position.

Trust me, I know it's hard to find a NG out of high school, but we have to start stockpiling talent at that position.

Seeing as how we moved Taylor to Oline, I wouldn't mind seeing Brandon Hill make the switch as well. He played NG for his high school so he knows how to hit.

We really haven't offered or shown much interest in many true NG types. Michael Hill is a possibility and I think he has a relationship with Rumph and likes Bama but appears to like Ohio State, Clemson, and UGA more. I suspect we'll find someone from summer camps or Juco.

Yeah I know. JUCO is normally where you find NGs, but it would be nice to find one with 4 full years of eligibility as opposed to 2.

The problem with finding a NG prospect out of HS is that most of them need to put on weight, need to get a lot stronger, and/or need to learn to play with a much lower pad level. So really, you are probably only going to get 2, maybe 3, years of quality play out of them.

Several HS coaches think he's Cadillac 2.0. And that was after his sophomore year. He'll be bigger and faster by the time he graduates.

And I think Bo is WR all the way, he has expressed serious interest playing there for Bama. Even more so than RB. I think as long as he doesn't break the upper 230s, he'll be a WR...

I think we'll be good at NT. You just have to get a big body, get him in the weight room and teach him to take on blockers. We've got plenty of big bodies. Cody and Chapman were probably not as ready as the guys we're bringing in now except for maybe Ivory.

I hope Taylor moves back to D. I feel like our guard depth is pretty good. Let Taylor work on being a NG for a few seasons.

I also hope Davlin Tomlinson finds a home at NG, but he might be destined for DE.

I think Bama will be fine going the JuCo in moderation, just as long as they don't pull a Jackie Sherrill. Excluding re-signees, I believe Bama has went JuCo twice for LT, NG, and CB.

LT: Carpenter (hit) Douglas (tragic miss)

NG: Cody (huge hit) Williams (big hit)

CB: Menzie (hit) Dixon (???)

Jesse Williams is awesome and is a fan favorite but he will have to have an amazing year to surpass the legend of mount cody.

Who did we get from JuCo at LT other than Carpenter?

Saban has done a great job of JuCo evaluation though. A lot of those guys are gambles.

ETA: Forgot about Douglas because he, unfortunately, never got a chance to play.

Are these complete lists y'all are making? If so, does everyone not think we are getting Reuben Foster now? Did I miss something?
