Alabama has dealt with that for 6 recruiting classes. They get fed every line in the book, when it comes to Nick Saban. Nothing will change.

TE Standish Dobard is someone to keep an eye on. He's from New Orleans. I don't know where LSU stands with him, but he seems interested in Alabama.

6-5 235 and a very solid receiving thread from the TE position. Alabama has not offered yet, but it could come soon.

I don't agree with that. No kid is going to have the mentality, "I could be next". That's not human nature.

I think you are right as of now, but if this continues to happen in the way these took place. Parents and players will begin to factor that in to their process. Take a look at DGB and Arky.

Arky was in a good place, but at the end Petrino's rep of leaving ATL in mid season, plus the turnover of his staff was a big negative. His parents looked at not just that they were leaving, but was it a lateral move, or an upward move.

Granted his parents were more savvy, but they are catching on what to look for. The family is using social, and media outlets to gather info.

Point: If what happened to Philon and the other kid, happens some more? They will begin to think Am I Next? Understand I am not just meaning at Bama either.

What I expect to change is that Saban will start putting a heavier price on a commitment and only take early commits oh high value targets.

The heavier price, you continue to visit then the offer is no longer guaranteed.

Can only work because of the success he is having, and sending kids to the NFL, but you could lose out on some top key recruits no matter what because the player, or family is turned off by the tactic.

true, he would have to be willing to cut a 5* kid off and walk away. Saban has enough ego and enough clout to do it. If he did, others would follow and it would lead to a call for early signing days from a wider number of voices.

the other side of the higher price would also be having to stand by the kid that got hurt even after making such a commitment. It would be a fair trade.

He's on the watch list to commit this weekend to LSU. doubt he ends it so quickly, but Shea wouldn't mention him if it wasn't a good possibility.
