Barron's frame is a little stouter IMO, and he's maxed it out in correlation with being a capable DB. He could maybe go 230, but he'd be looking at 43 OLB switch like Thomas Davis before him.
Dawson looks like he could push 250 if he wanted, he has a DE type frame...

I would think that Bama would take Cameron Toney before Dillan Lawson.

QB Cooper Bateman (Salt Lake City, Utah/Cottonwood) claims to have been offered by Alabama OC Doug Nussmeier today. It's an offer Bateman was excited about, coming from the national champs. He wants to take a tour through the Southeast this spring (March or April) hitting Alabama, Auburn, Florida and maybe Arkansas.

I could be completly wrong but im thinking that Cameron Toney possibly waited too long. I know its early but I read a article where he said something about someone told him if he knows the school he likes go ahead and go there because he may get left out.

Dillan Lawson film...what I saw:
(disclaimer*-didn't wanna make Mag mad
so here's a truthful breakdown of what I saw)
On film you can see, or at least the film I saw, he is better than I originally thought, and looks larger than listed. I'd be VERY interested in what his measurement was at UF Jr day. His skill set fits a DL or rush specialist much better than any type of LB, so gaining weight will be imperative. He has long arms & great pass rush technique, reads plays well & dissects plays well, sheds blockers with relative ease, but stands straight up before a hit and out of stance, that must be fixed. Shuffles a bit as well, also good coaching can correct, needs a wider base. He has a great power base and beats most 1on1 blockers, a lot less impressive trying to read & react as any type of LB in coverage, straight up then loses strides into backpedal, again good coaching can help especially since his backpedal and plant is terrible, but it is VERY apparent how raw he is.

IMHO Lawson could add quite a bit of weight and be an above average maybe great DL with the right coaching, he really needs to bulk up big time though

It would be nice to get him down for the Alabama A-Day game.

Watching Dillan Lawson's highlights, he reminds me a bit of Tana Patrick coming out of HS. Maybe just a little smaller. He looks to be best suited for SAM. He tends to react best from a standing start rather than with hand in the dirt. When down with hand in the dirt his first step is to stand up which allows the OT to get too close to him. SEC level OT's would get their hands on him and he would be toast.
I say better at SAM than ILB because he tends to float and read rather than explode down hill at the RB. His float and read instinct would be helpful in maintaining containment on the edge. J Harris is more of a float and read where C Upshaw, D Hightower and Nico tend to explode down hill at the ball.

Interesting....
Andrew Bone ? @AndrewJBone
Just spoke with Five-star LB Reuben Foster. He likely will not play at Troup County next year. Much more with Foster coming very soon...

Lot of discussion on a guy that doesn't have a offer. Lol

Will Georgia still flip him if he goes to, say, Northridge or Bryant High in Tuscaloosa?

Oh that would be awesome but I don't see him going OOS, could be wrong though

If he somehow can transfer to B'ham where he has some family, UGA will have no shot.

The only problem is AHSAA rules on transfers. I'm not sure how they would deal with that.
Posted on 2/23/12 at 6:19 pm to CapstoneGrad06
We just need to get him as far away from UGA as possible. Lagrange isn't really that close so maybe he'll end up at Lagrange. I really hope he doesn't transfer to Newnan where Matthews is unless Matthews wants to flip to the good guys.

Is Georgia different?
It could different if you are coming from out of state. It would suck if your family moved because your dads business and you can't play.

Reuben Foster said he did talk to the Alabama coaches about transferring, and they told him to do what he thinks is best, and that they can't do anything about his coach being fired.
He also seemed excited about Tyren Jones committing to Bama.
And about Robert Nkemdiche and others that Alabama is interested in....
He also talked about taking visits to other schools and that he talked to the Alabama coaches about it. They told him to take visits if he wanted.

"That’s my boy," Foster said about his future teammate at Alabama. "I didn’t know he was going to commit so fast. I was telling him to go ahead and commit. I am glad he did.

"I love the way the class is shaping up right now. I am working on a lot of guys trying to get them to get on board. I am trying to get Robert [Nkemdiche]. I talk to a lot of guys really. If they look good, and the coaches want them, I am going to talk to them.
“I just got off the phone with Tray [Matthews]. I know he likes them [Alabama]. He is going to go over there to visit here in a few weeks. I’m working on him. We are actually going over to Georgia together this weekend."

You damn right. Hackenberg is the only QB we should be going after. Cooper is just a backup plan.
And not that he is a bad player, but Hackenberg is obviously our top target and we shouldn't "settle" this time. We get Hackenberg in this class and EJ Moss next year and we are set at QB for the next 5 years. I would much rather grab the elite guy now then be scrambling next year. I think Sims will stay, but it would be nice to build that QB depth.
And I appreciate you looking out for me Trey.
