A miss? He hasn't even done anything in a live game situation. How is he a miss?

Come on, Prom. While the sequence of events you described is true, your commentary is a bit much. It would be like Bama fans saying Kwon got pissy because Bama wanted him to greyshirt. The reality is both prospects were pursued more by the out of state school. No need to disparage either one.

I believe that Kwon Alexander didn't have an offer from Bama and LSU felt he was worth the chance. It paid off for LSU. I believe Sims didn't have an offer from LSU but Bama feels it is worth the chance. We will see if it pays off for Bama.

Truth is, it would be silly for either program to claim one kid isn't "good enough" for an offer at their school but is good enough for the other school. Both school recruit at an elite level so if a kid has a commits me offer the. He is very talented. The only difference is in the evaluation and team ranking of a specific player.

Cooper was not a five star guy but he damn sure plays like one.

The difference is Kwon at one point had a bama offer. If was revoked when he suffered his injury. Bama still recruited him after, but attempted a greyshirt. Sims never had an LSU offer, and LSU has not recruited him recently other than sending him am invite and asking him to camp this year. So with Kwon there was always legit bama interest, but with Sims LSU always focused on bigger targets in the state of LA and TX. Sims ran a slow 4.7 at our camp two years ago. since he never showed up to improve his standing with the coaches there is no way LSU would want to recruit him further.

Cooper is a burner. Reminds me of Michael Clayton. Sims always looks a step slow in his highlights.

Falkins and Sims are not "misses"

LSU had/has bigger fish on board

Kwon waited to long to try to commit to Bama when he tried his offer was no longer on the table. Multiple recruiting "experts" (people who actually get paid to cover recruiting) from various sites all said the same thing. Class was full by the time he came around. There's no doubt the talent was there for him to play at Bama just waited to long. Sims is more then talented to play big time sec ball. You don't get ranked in the top 250/247 which ever you want to go by and not have the talent to play.

Enough with pretending SECr poster know who was or was not a "miss". Kwon is a better fit for what LSU does but was not as high of a priority at Bama based on their system. Falkins and Sims were a higher priority for what Bama wanted than they were at LSU.

In all 3 cases the kid chose to go to the school that had the most interest based on how the coaches thought they fit a need. I hope it works out well for all of them (so long as Kwon is not the reason LSU beats Bama while he is there )

as an aside, I enjoy that none of the bama fans seem to care too much about derek kief when discussing big WRs in this class.

he's ok I guess; probably be a solid blocker.

Nobody said he wasn't good. Everyone I've seen stated facts. He ran a very slow time the 1st time he camped at LSU, and the coaches asked him to come to camp to see if he'd improved. He chose to get pissy about it just like Ellis last season.

Don't be an idiot, this was purely strategic on Bama's part.

No offense but UA fans are excited he is a part of the class just like with Falkins. So if LSU fans did not want him so be it.

And in regards to facts, here is one- the only LA recruits(including the ones LSU did not want) are only winning NC in Al the last 4 years, not LA.

So LSU according to their fans get everyone they want and never miss. But I would rather miss a few in recruiting and not miss in the NC.

Like I've stated before,It's fortunate for the rest of the college football world that there are scholarship limitations.

That kind of sums it up. Same as a Bama kid that goes to LSU or any out of State school. Falkins is a fine WR. He's no speed burner and neither is Sims but that's OK. I think I'll trust the judgment of our staff over onions from casual fans.

It wasnt that LSU fans didn't want him. The staff wanted to further evaluate him at camp and see if he improved his 40. He didn't like that and didn't return to camp and we moved on simple as that.

Also helps that not every HS football player wants to play for Bama,as difficult as that may be to comprehend.
