Elko’s ideas seem smart and practical. Return to the roots and connect to the Texas HS talent.
The opposite of Jimbo’s approach. He just let ERob go get east coast guys who would want to transfer hit the portal more frequently for a variety of reasons.

Damn. Wanted him bad. He good. Elko must be a good pitchman. Gotta be good to reel in a guy as a new HC and staff with nothing but Duke success to know what he’s gonna do on D when you’re short on time before heading to the draft.

Elko is quite proven regarding defense so absolutely no questions there.
This guy is a stud and helps us build more depth.
Feel we just need maybe one addt OL and we have great depth at every position. Be nice to get a quick slot receiver to be our next Anias, too! Add depth to replace Stewart's softness...kid could never get off the line cleanly.

Between Jabre Barber and Cyrus Allen we have some candidates for the slot. I think Elko seeing Barber light up his old team in the bowl certainly helped him get attention.
