I was highly upset when he was hired as HC. I love the man but just couldn't get past the fact that he was completely unqualified. BUT, he has us with a top 5 class in a year where he was named interim HC mid season. That's incredible.
Just had to give Orgeron his props. A top 5 class as a first year coach is pretty impressive.
Edit: sorry, forgot about Kirby signing a top 10 class last year. Oops!

Pretty insane considering Canada is relatively unknown to a lot of these recruits in the south and O's track record at Ole Miss. hopefully it carries over to the season

O has always been a one of the best recruiters in the nation

Yeah but as a first year HC it's unprecedented. A first year HC hasn't ever even signed a top 10 class and hes got us a top 5 class. That's insane.

With a new HC and both coordinators I think lsu did a heck of a job. You guys will always get talent as you have every year anyone thinking otherwise isn't smart.

Not being a smartass, it's an impressive class. A really good recruiter coaching LSU is going to bring in a good class on a yearly basis. That part shouldn't be too surprising.
I think OP may be jumping the gun a little on this recruiting class validating the hire though. O has recruited well everywhere. He still hasn't proven to be a coach capable of elite results in the fall though. Time will tell.

Kirby Smart signed a top 10 class in his first year, which was literally only last year

Oh, I'm not doing that at all. Just wanted to give Orgeron his props. It's a hard thing to do. I still think it was an absolutely terrible hire.
