Oh no a guy drove fast to impress girls. That means extra hate crimes.
Dude overestimated his ability and it cost someone their life. He’ll get a day in court and face judgement. Let those involved in the system handle it and move on. Bunch of damn gossip girls with no life.

I see you completely ignored and/or STFU about manslaughter. Probably wise on your part.
We're talking about a woman burned to death in her own car, on a public street. And you want to talk legalities.
Or you want to talk semantics again ? You could just shut up. But you won't.

Well, yeah, because the legalities are how the victim actually gets justice and Ruggs actually gets punished for his actions. So yeah, I think the legalities are pretty damn important. But maybe you think having a melt down on the internet is more important

The criminal code has nothing to do with semantics bud. That is how the criminal justice system will punish Ruggs. And if you actually want him punished to the fullest extent of the law, you should probably move on from manslaughter, but you do you.

the girl articulated for him to stop and let her out. Laughing doesn't imply she wanted him to drive intoxicated at 158 mph. It is just another way to blame a victim.
No shite. The girl in the video isn't the girl that died. It was 2 completely separate situations.

It never occurred to me to invite you. However, with that incredibly witty paste of the laughing emoji - well, we'll see. Wit such as that can't be allowed to languish.

Then please - enlighten us as to how the man that burned a woman alive - while driving 150 MPH - can be punished to the full limit of the law. How he can serve every day possible by the legal system. How his assets can be drained.
Let us know - instead of just being the Devils Advocate. Tell us how to drop the hammer on our young speed racer.
But you won't.

By charging him with DUI causing death and not manslaughter as you proposed. Charging him for what they did produces more possible years in jail than manslaughter. I already laid out all of this previously, so maybe go back and read

How his assets can be drained.
By her estate suing him civilly after his criminal trial, which they will do and will do so successfully

I won't?

If everything is equal - I should just drive 150 MPH too. It's all just a "mistake".
Same argument the Ruggs defenders made. Before they shifted to "it's just manslaughter".
You tell me - they got a "just manslaughter" ring in Hell ?

She never had reason to call me someone that drove 150 MPH+ on the public roads, hit a woman, and watch her burn to death.
I doubt she'd make arguments about how I should be spared, if I did such a thing, either. She'd bring the rope to the gallows.

Not many places anywhere you can expect to go 150 and not be in danger
That’s even hard to do on an interstate
How stupid do you have to be and to even do it when you are sober is even more reckless.
Go be a race car driver

Sounds like you were raised as chattel and not by a loving family. My condolences

I know this has been discussed ad nauseum on here, but I don't understand why there's so much sympathy and compassion for Ruggs out there. Why? Because he can run fast and jump and catch? Imagine if this was any other random person who DIDN'T play football. Everyone would be wanting the harshest possible sentence.
What do you want from random people on a message board - should we gather together bringing our pitchforks and caravan to the jail he’s at? I don’t feel persuaded by you so I still feel a little bad for anyone that’s 22 and literally fricks up their life like he has. I think it’s possible to have that feeling along with the thinking he’s an idiot, thinking he deserves a pretty harsh sentence and having a lot of sympathy for the woman and her family etc.

I was certainly never raised to be a pro ball player. Or drive 150 MPH down city streets, hit somebody, and watch them burn to death.
Poe-Tay-Toe ... Poe-Tah-Toe.

Did you watch it? That shows a kid showing off to a girl. They're laughing and cutting up. What happened with the accident is horrible and the guy deserves to pay for taking a life but that vid just shows a young guy trying to impress a girl. There's nothing sinister about it.

Can't recall which thread I was reading. But the 23 year old female he hit survived the crash. She was pleading for help and everyone was trying but she was pinned in. Died from the resulting fire. Horrible.
That is fricked up. I don't see how anyone survived at all.

It’s actually a big rush. With the right training and equipment (hopefully a closed course) going 150-200mph in a performance car is a ton of fun. I have done the ATL motor speedway road course in a 1975 mustang II that a coach built. I didn’t go as fast as some but I was north of 160 a good bit of the time. Some of those guys were getting close to 180 on the 2 straight aways.
