If you have ever been drunk at a bar you have been drunk in public. Getting arrested for it is just a matter of wrong place wrong time. It's one of the most vague, inconsistently enforced statutes in the police officer's arsenal of tools.

He's your tidefans version of a poster. Always has been. He pulled that specific case up for one reason only. It was a Bama DUI. It's not like there hasn't been Au players or anyone else arrested for DUI in the last 20 years, now is there? For all the griping that some have about tidefan posters, many never call their own lunatic fringe out.

From what I've heard, it's hard as hell to get arrested for PI in Auburn. Most of the cops just let it go and tell you to go home/call it a night.

Zeke must have been acting like an arse to the cop, or pissin in a public place to get arrested.

It's usually enforced more often when a person is beligerent and uncooperative.

Probably the case in this instance.

Just pointing out his bias. Why's it bother you that I point that out? He's repeatedly defending the NtY crowd and has made no bones about his readiness to go down as a homer in the same fashion as any tidefans poster.

Taking a Bama DUI from 20 years ago and throwing it into this argument makes complete sense to you? It doesn't reek of trying to alter the flow of the thread or flame?

Most likely. However, could be he caught a cop on a bad night or it could be that the APD is cracking down on underage drinking at college parties after the tragedy that happened and ZP was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Either way, in the big picture PI isn't a big deal as far as "crimes" committed by college students. As far as stuff that will get you in trouble as a scholarship QB at AU, I imagine ZP is going to be in the doghouse for a while given his reputation preceding this.

But let's play... Can you name a player from the past that got off with a slap of the wrist that today would be a big deal.. I do know more about Auburn or Alabama. (Yes I know a couple of Auburn examples, but why would I bring that up?)

No need to resort to name calling, (Tidefans), we know about your post and how negative they are.. Now what is your handle on Tidefans?

He stated that he was making a comparison regarding how times have changed and then you questioned why he didn't use an example from AU over the last 3 years. It just didn't make any sense other than you let him ruffle your feathers by bringing up Palmer's DUI's.

Why is it not relevant to a discussion of reaction to an athlete being arrested for an alcohol related offense?

Stop being obtuse. You know as well as anyone on this board that allin2010 lives to flame Bama.

She went out of her way to throw some random shite in this thread that happened to a Bama player (20 yrs ago) just to try to divert the attention away from the abundance of bad PR that has become a staple at AU lately.

From what I have heard they are cracking down big time on underage drinking at house/apt parties and the parties themselves as well since the shooting.

Not sure where he got busted.

If it was downtown, it's usually because you did something else. Or clearly drunk with the big underage x on your hands.

How is comparing one alcohol related arrest to another, random?

Seemed like he/she was trying to point out potential hypocrisy based upon fan lines.

DUI =\= to PI. As far as you thinking it riled me, it didn't. I just saw it for what it was, a veiled attempt to flame Bama.

Driving while intoxicated and public intox are far cries from each other in perception. It's no more relevent than Eric Smiths punishment after pleading guilty to a felony and getting a slap on the wrist.

As I said, he's your version of a tidefans poster. There was once a time some Bama folks called out their own bad posters. I think one reason that happens little now, is that it's not done by other fanbases when their shitty posters start things. Yalls perogative. Just don't expect the posting habits of any other fan bases to get any better or criticized as happens so often by alot of your fanbase.

In light of what happened a couple of weeks ago with the shooting tragedy, I commend them for tightening up on the drinking/partying.

Public Intox is really just a backup plan every cop has when they want to arrest you but have nothing else to charge you with. Hell, the Supreme Court nearly held all public intox laws as unconstitutional back in the 60's, but it was upheld on a 5-4 vote.
