What's so hard to comprehend here with Ben Simmons being compared to Magic and Bird?? Let me break it down for the dumb posters, the comparison to Magic is that Magic at 6'8, great ball handling skills, can lead the fast break, can break a press, Simmons at 6'9 great ball handling skills, can lead the break, can break a press.
Simmons comparison to Bird, Bird at 6'9 great passer, always seems a step ahead of the opponent, elevated the play of his teammates, Simmons, 6'9 great passer, seems to be a step ahead of his opponent, elevates the play of his teammates.
THAT'S why he is being touted as a COMBO of both Bird and Magic.

And another comparison of Simmons to Magic and Bird is his position. Simmons is a POINT FORWARD. Meaning he has outstanding ball handling skills. Bird played a Point Forward position meaning he can bring the ball up court against pressure. Magic was a point guard/forward meaning he can bring the ball upcourt against pressure.
Magic, Bird, Pippen, Durant, Lebron are the ultimate POINT Forwards, and Simmons has the same skillset as those mentioned. These guys create mismatches against ANY forwards/guards that try to defend them. They are to quick for a power forward to defend, to tall for a small forward, and can see over a point guard. Therefore the POINT FORWARD position was created.
