Can you direct me to where Bama suffered any penalty whatsoever for playing a player in multiple games despite said player playing multiple seasons as a professional?

And that was bullshite. However, this very specific SEC bylaw did not exist at that point. I'm not sure how you could ignore that.

People have been telling LSU fans that for a week. And what it is about. That it isn’t about 2 players. It is about LSU signaling to the SEC they won’t follow the rules, and only when they are threatened with penalties do they comply. Didn’t make official their roster until Friday night. Left two roster spots open. Didn’t fill them until today when it became real to them. Will Wade still has RJ Luis listed on the LSU roster. And there is no question he is a pro, he played in 3 NBA games.

Kiffin and LSU can say they will follow the rules. But the members don’t want to have to threaten LSU with expulsion to get them to behave. And you can only threaten to expel someone once before it becomes a hollow threat.

I think if RJ Luis is still on the LSU roster on Thursday LSU will be expelled.

LSU hired public enemy #1 in both basketball and football in the span of a few months. And they appear to have no oversight at LSU. Which as the lawsuit amendment alleges equals lack of institutional control. So far the only two Louisiana statements on it I’ve seen are from Landry and Murrill. Landry said this is stupid, just play ball. Murrill attacked the SEC.

That will not help their cause come Thursday.

RJ Luis is on Will Wade’s roster because a Louisiana judge issued an injunction allowing him to play college basketball again. He played in 3 NBA games.

The difference in Bediako’s case is there was not a concise definition of what qualified as a pro at the time. Bediako’s argument was he had never played for an NBA squad so he wasn’t a pro. The Tuscaloosa judge ruled that signing a professional contract with an NBA squad qualified as being a pro even if the player never played with an actual NBA team. Everyone thought that settled it.

Then Will Wade arrived and recruited RJ Luis, and he won an injunction in Louisiana to play. Wade added him to the roster.

Then Lane Kiffin recruited Harris and Wright. They both won an injunction to play, again in a Louisiana court. Lane held out until Friday night before turning the roster in. But he left two slots open, meaning he could add one or both during the season.

The Jack Pyborg “I’m going to LSU if I get waived… I got waved and am going to LSU…. Oh wait I got picked up by another team, I am staying in the NFL” was horrible optics tor LSU and Kiffin.

The SEC does not feel like the conference can be managed if local judges are able to over ride SEC rules. Or if schools refuse to follow the rules.

LSU picked the worst time to do this. The SEC is working on self-governing. And you have a member stand up to them in different defiance. If they hope to self-govern they can not let this go unpunished. And they might make an example of someone. LSU volunteered.

And now you have the governor and AG slinging barbs at the SEC. None of this bodes well for LSU.
