Twitter burn

I was against running up the score on that last deep pass, but after thinking about how they left him at the airport, I think I'll give Kiffin a pass on that one.

Can't say I would be big enough to not do the same there.

Funny how when he was at USC, none of us liked him. When he went to Tennessee, you liked him and we hated him. When he left, we all hated him again. And now that he's at Bama, we like him and you hate him.

Oh, the glorious ironies of being a fan in the SEC.

I would have no problem with it.

He clearly wasn't ready. I think he has matured, but whether he is ready to be a head coach again I don't know.

Did you hear about Sarkisian coming to Bama? What is it with Saban saving the careers of failed USC coaches?

He can talk. He's earned it. No one can say anything. You don't have to like it, but he's earned it.

He's viewed as a great offensive mind and without Kiffin, Alabama probably doesn't win SEC and National Championships the last two years. He's responsible for at least a couple of wins that should have been losses.

I know I am old and old school.

But if I was an AD, these jabs on social media would cause me concerns if I were considering him as a head coach.

He came to Bama to rehab his image. Why continue to show potential immaturity with these public jabs just to make yourself feel better in the moment.

We all know he was happy to get a couple extra scores against USC...they know it as well. No need to tweet about it.

Well, you certainly wouldn't have to worry about him running up the middle every play. Not sure what your defense would look like. If Kiffin could hire a big time DC and let him have control of the D without interference, maybe it would be interesting.

I'm not gonna lie, as much as I disliked Kiffin, I remember feeling pretty bad for him due to the way he was fired from USC. You don't just leave someone on the tarmac. That was very shitty of Haden and USC.

I know the guy was (and probably still is) a POS, but you handle situations like that with a little more professionalism. At least give the man a ride back to California so he can clear out his office.

let's just cut to the heart of it.

If Saban retires do you want Lane to take over?

If any other school in the SEC hired Kiffin again, they would want him to bring EVERY SINGLE Bama recruit that would come with him, regardless of what they may claim. So there is some amount of mendacity and false virtue in all these Kiffin rants.

I'd rather have Dabo. The longer Kiffin stays and does well, and doesn't have any negative incidents, the more I warm up to the idea of him taking over.

But honestly, as much as I think he has matured, I would prefer someone proven at the head coach level. If we were a program a level lower, like an Ole Miss or Arkansas, I'd take him in a heartbeat.

I think Lane will probably get a dozen more HC job offers in D1 before Nick retires so it's likely you will get a chance to hire him WITH the HC experience, assuming he get's it done in his second go around.

As for that hashtag tweet thing, the kids today (that Kiffin is recruiting) will love the hell outa that stuff regardless of what any of us think about it. Anyone who thinks that will prevent him from getting another HC job is kidding their self.

Why allow it? If for no other reason that in this day and age of social media, it attracts recruits.

Like it or not, but 17 and 18 year old kids, elite athletes that they are, are attracted to such brash and confident attitudes, especially when coming from a rock star like celebrity such as Lane Kiffin that can back it up with results.

Kiffin is not a stupid fellow, nor is Saint Nick Saban. If it gives you an edge, by whatever degree, then do it.
