I know. I'm just saying, that AU fans are failing to understand that even if Cecil asked for money from MSU solely, it's still an NCAA violation, and an indictment on the individual athlete. Rather than the school (program) as a whole.

Wouldn't the fact he admitted he asked for money make the tapes irrelevant?

Even if in reality Cam had no idea, I don't think the NCAA buys that. They don't have to take Cecil Newton at his word, and I don't think they will

With Cecil admitting this tonight, there would be no way AU would let him play tomorrow if they haven't already got the green light from the NCAA.

God you people are stupid. First off that is another 3rd party conversation which will have to be investigated by the NCAA.

Second, there is no deadline to finish the investigation. The damn thing is two weeks old.

They do not rule on eligibility until they are done.

Cam playing has always been in Auburn's ball court, not the NCAA.

You dunderheads have really worn me down. I wasn't pulling against Auburn and if you read my posts I have said from the start, I don't think Auburn will be punished but I do think cam will eventually be rules ineligible. That probably won't happen until the end of the season if then.

I am so sick of all of you knuckleheads burying your head in the sand, I now do hope you get your asses nailed to the wall.

According to the NCAA, a violation is committed the moment an athlete or athlete’s family solicits extra benefits. Potential penalties are based on the type and scope of the violation. The athlete’s responsibility is also considered.

If Cam didnt know, is he responsible?

of course they wouldn't, that's what makes cfb's theory so incredibly retarded.

apparently if you can claim ignorance, you're off scott free

Auburn has nothing to lose. May as well play Newton so they can have an undefeated season (possibly) before reality hits and it is all taken away.

Good gawd you are a fricking half wit. If Cecil solicited money from State, Cam is ineligible. That is all there is to it. The NCAA still has to conduct their investigation, finish it, and level a punishment. Until then, they can only advise Auburn that they should consider withholding him from competition because there is an eligibility issue, which they have done. With Cecil's admission earlier this evening, if Cam plays tomorrow Auburn is playing with fire in a big way.

good point- but you also have Dan Mullen telling the NCAA what Cam said on the phone about the money being too much...As I said the other day, there is lots more to come from this- only about 25% of this is public

NCAA will make sure Newton plays tomorrow and the rest of the year.

No way do they want to take a chance on Boise St TCU if they can help it.

Yes he's because his eligibility becomes a question mark immediately after the solicitation begins.
