Many, including myself, have businesses which are very heavily tied to providing a service to folks in town for football games.
Is it silly that our culture puts so much emphasis on a game...sure. Its also silly that folks spend thousands on boats and fishing gear...only to catch fish that youll throw back

Yes, but fishing gives you relaxation and fun. People on here are getting angry and raising their blood pressure over institutions that don't know they exist.

8-0 Bama vs Kentucky while 8-0 LSU plays Purdue / NC State / Baylor just doesn't have the same excitement to it

LSU's "protected rivals" are Ole Miss, Texas A&M, and Arkansas.
We're already not playing each other in 2027 or 2029, IIRC.
