It's not about a good Auburn.

It is just a fact the SEC was dominating college football before, during and will be after the current bama dynasty. No bama and the SEC is still winning titles almost every year for over a decade now.

I don't disagree that the SEC is good. I disagree that Bama had 'little national profile'. And your 30 years with only 1 national title is weak as hell. Let's actually look at it.

Shula's last season 2006 (1976-2006)

Florida: 2 (96 and 06)
UT: 1 (98)
UGA: 1 (80)
LSU: 1 (03)
Auburn: 0 (fricking zero)
Alabama: 3 (78,79,92)

Ummm.... Whoops?

Anyways splice the years however you want to make your point, it doesn't matter. Bama was still selling out every game, getting on tv as much as anyone, and was one of the biggest moneymakers in the conference and all of cfb. Bama always had the name.

Believe I said almost 30 years and I siad until 2009 or something like that as I was using arbitrary language to exclude the 1970s. But whatever.

Two points still stand. SEC is just fine and wins lots of titles and is the best in the country whether or not bama even exists. Two, bama was irrelevant nationally with very few exceptions for decades and an afterthought.

And the SEC was not nearly the same

Then so was Auburn, so was LSU, so was pretty much everyone else. Maybe not Florida? But then what did they do in the 80s?

And Bama's name and prestige never went away, which is why they continued to get coverage, SI covers, and still even after their worst period ever had the ability to steal an NC winning head coach away from an NFL team

Immediately before the current bama dynasty, yes, the SEC was the same.

2003, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2008 national champions with multiple teams ranked in the top 10 every year.

Well, the 1980s were a golden age for the SEC. UGA dominated the first part of the decade and AU the second part but all 6 of the Big 6 were good almost every year. Hell, in 1983 the top 3 teams in the country may have all been SEC teams. And even though AU and UGA combined for 6 or 7 SEC titles in the 80s. Florida, Tenn, LSU and Bama were all good and in the top 20 most of every year. Hell, the Big 6 in the 1980s were the best they have ever been as a whole.

Florida and Tenn were really good in the 90s and won multiple national titles. AU and Bama were really good as well. Bama was close to two national titles, AU went undefeated and were 1 inch away from a second undefeated season in a row in 94.

Then we already went over the 2000s.

The SEC is the SEC. Whether bama is up down or sideways, the SEC is the best in the land and will have multiple teams win NCs every decade.

I find many Texas A&M fans passive-aggressive
little bitches. Your looking for affirmation from Alabama who just kicked your arse is sad and frankly embarrassing. You haven't beaten LSU for 23 years and you are bitter. Texas was just big brother. LSU is your daddy. Have more respect for your betters. And start acting like SEC
men.

Show continued progress under Jimbo, prove we can stop the run, but have a result that will hopefully continue the SEC’s national reputation as the top conference. Whether we like it or not, Bama represents all of us and we need them to continue carrying the flag.

And there I was, contemplating upon giving Missouri the Moral Victory Championship...

Silly old me...

I remember that. The Bama fan base was mocked for that... Just like folks are mocking Texas now about being back. Texas has it worse due to the huge presence of social media.

I've never heard that before, but I can see why Auburn fans wanna think that.

I imagine the true SEC golden age would be when they won 7 straight undisputed National Titles. 3 of which were by Bama.

Well, think about it...

All 6 of the Big 6 were good for the majority of the decade. And it is the only decade all 6 of the Big 6 have been good for a majority of a decade.

Someone else would have to run the numbers but the 80s may have seen more weeks spent in the top 20 combined by SEC teams than any other decade.

One of these are not like the others.....USC won both the BCS and AP trophy in 2004.. yes they may have been vacated, but as far as I know, no SEC team was ever awarded either of these championships

It means war for poor old aggy who're slobbing Alabama's knob like there's no tomorrow... All so they can "get back" at those mean old Longhorns, Sooners and Red Raiders who kicked their arse up and down the field in the Big 12.

Man, OP and me have a TOTAL different idea of what the word perfect means. If that was a perfect result for ATM you are a miserable or sadistic MF.
