If y’all don’t think Bama’s success has directly helped every member of the SEC, then I don’t know what to tell y’all

This year is a wash, have to think long term. The SEC’s profile is much more important to us long term than winning one game

A&M will give LSU all it can handle, I think we win this year. But beating a mid-tier SEC like LSU is good for A&M and doesn’t impact the SEC’s national perception. However, beating Bama this year would have hurt the SEC which wouldn’t have been good for A&M

SEC won 5 national championships in the 2000s with bama only contributing 1. 6 if you count 2004 Auburn.

And actually the SEC won the national title 7 out 8 years from 2003 to 2010 and bama only had 1 of those titles (including 2004 for AU which you may as well since USC vacated and AU was probably the best team in 2004 and undefeated anyway).

SEC does just fine whether bama is up or down. UGA would have won the title in both 2012 and 2017 this decade with no bama and LSU would have in 2011. Florida in 2009.

Basically in the last 15 years if bama sucked or didnt exist, the SEC would still would have won 11 national titles. Basically no difference.

Wrong. If UGA wins the 2012 SECCG because no Bama, they go on to defeat Notre Dame for the National Championship, and Richt is not fired. With Richt as coach UGa does not contend in 2017, and with no UGA or Bama to deal with, Oklahoma wins the 2017 National Title

Or AU doesnt have to contend with a good UGA in Atlanta, goes into the playoffs healthy and wins it last year.

And yeah, I'm 100% correct that the SEC does just fine and wins plenty of national titles with or without bama. Bama has mostly just prevented other SEC teams from winning titles since saban arrived.

the hell they do.

You bastards try to kiss Bamas arse every chance you get. They are real good. A shite ton better than you guys. Probably better than everyone, but god damn if I am going to act like a loss is the perfect result.

Getting your arse beat is only perfect in Aggie world.

Also, if Meyer never has to deal with Saban, maybe his chest pains never happen and Florida is still dominating the league today. Of course would Tuberville have ever been fired without the pressure from Saban, leading to the Chizik/Cam/Malzahn eras? Or maybe a least a year or two later causing an entirely different result for Auburn? There are many forks on the paths of alternate history

You must be like 17.

Bama and its run of dominance has made football terrible in the SEC.

Everyone watches about 2 games a year now, yeah, we check scores to verify they are running all over Aggie, but we arent watching the game.

The SEC is sooo much better when half of it does not suck. There used to be a day when the SEC was competitive. It is not now. Kudos to Bama, but to act like this is good for the conference, it is not.

Every conference is better with rivals, the more the better. The SEC is not immune to this, look at the ACC with Clemson, OSU and the Big10, Oklahoma and the 12....no one gives a shite about that conference, the best teams are known before the first kick off.
