A perfect result would have been a Bama loss. We did well, and can be happy about not getting thrashed. But dont say it was a perfect result.

If you actually learned anything you could clearly see. Yall need to recruit better especially at db and tailback, yall secondary sucks, you need a better tailback rotation, and yall o line needs to hit the weight room. Jimbo is recruiting better so far than Sumlin but can he keep it up to stack the talent? Talent and depth is huge in winning big, Saban even stressed that...

Show continued progress under Jimbo, prove we can stop the run, but have a result that will hopefully continue the SEC’s national reputation as the top conference. Whether we like it or not, Bama represents all of us and we need them to continue carrying the flag

Son, I don't believe I'd of said that outloud.

No way A&M has the ability to hire someone like Jimbo without the SEC revenue, which has been directly tied to Bama’s success

But I thought aggy was the world's most valuable college football program?

Or was that based on a flawed study that's simplistically focused on one-time revenue and false "profits" from a major fundraising drive to rebuild a stadium? Not even considering that the aggy AD chief financial officer said you really broke even, or lost a little money, either.

Don’t look now, but your Randolph Duke is showing.
So salty.

Bama was up 30 or so when they pulled their starters in the 3rd. They probably would have won by 45 if they had left Tua in.

I would hate to see the Aggie definition of a bad loss.

If AU loses to bama like Aggie did yesterday the AU melt will be a Cat 5.

It's all true, honey. NCAA accounting standards allow counting the stadium contributions as revenue, but not as an expense, thus inflating profit.

Jeff Toole said without those one-time contributions, your AD broke even, "or maybe lost a little."

this is hilarious, coming from a fan of the program that uses the erwin center and several govt accounting methods all so that they can claim the mythical revenue title every year

Tua is just that good. Bama already has playmakers but when you add a qb like tua it just makes it even harder. Ohio state is the only team i can see giving bama fits. Uga is too young this year. OSU is the only safe bet.

Bad loss = losing in Jordan-Hare or to South Carolina...thing we simply do not do.

Your patronizing tone, while noted (/headpat), is wasted on me.
It’s a message board, Randy.

Well we covered the spread and played better against them than anyone else they've played all year. So I wouldn't call it a bad loss. Especially since we all expected to lose.

WTF are you writing. The result was predictable, not ideal.

We all use the same accounting reporting methods, dumbass.

Any link to this claim, by the way?

Here's mine, linked.
quote:

When schools borrow money to build or refurbish athletics facilities, the NCAA currently requires them to count annual debt service payments — the amount of principal and interest they repay in a given year — as an operational expense. Cash spending on facilities is supposed to be counted, and reported, separately from annual operating expenses.

As a result, contributions to Texas A&M’s athletics program that were made in 2017 and spent on facilities projects that year are being reported as operating revenue while most of the corresponding spending on those projects is not being reported as an annual operating expense.

The Texas A&M athletics department’s chief financial officer, Jeff Toole, told USA TODAY Sports that when the facilities-related contributions are removed from consideration for 2017, “we are basically break-even, maybe a little less than break-even, for the year.”
