Robinson had done a lot of investigative work on Lyles prior to the interview.
I recall a Tweet from him in March about Lyles. I think it's even linked in this thread towards the beginnig of it.
^^Exactly ~ Lyles has been around the recruiting landscape for years. Folks in Texas knew him well back before he started his own buisness.

But his recent story was all about the interview.

I don't think anything relating to Cam is a 10.
Proof that Cam was paid would be a 10 IMO.

This. There isnt any evidence that he was paid but yet people believe it. I think that if there is proof found that he was paid or anything found that would make him ineligible, that would be a 10 just for the reason that most of the country wants ir to be true. Just my opinion.
I would really like to know what "evidence" there could possibly be. The NCAA and the SEC have already gone over the Newton's financial records.
Are they gonna find a receipt at the local BINGO parlor that says "Paid in full, Mr. Cecil Newton and his son Cameron, $200,000... Come again soon!"
Did someone take a portable magnetic resonance imager to the Newton's backyard on the down-low and find the Secret Vault of the Newtons? Sure hope it turns out better for you than Al Capone's vault.

quote:Exactly. Plus, it would be the top story on all sports shows. Although, if this is the '10' story, I bet ESPN would barely give it a spot on the ticker or not even mention it on Sportscenter because it isnt that important.
It would implode and be a fricking bloody mess.

I wouldn't be surprised if a "10" story never appears... there was supposed to be detrimental story broken about the Texas program back in January, allegedly about Cleve Bryant supplying escorts to prospective players, but once attorneys and payoffs get involved, these things tend to disappear.

No, after the original story came out.

But again, dude keeps delivering the goods.
Criticize his prognostication skills all you want, but no athletic department wants Charles Robinson anywhere near their school.
Agreed, I just wouldnt believe that his quote on that story is anything to do with the Lyles/oregon interview story. People are getting their hopes up over a dude hyping his own shite to sell more/page views

When was this interview? He said he had already been working on the story for 4 months prior. What was breaking/ or would have been breaking 4 to 5 months before that interview came out?

So evidence that Auburn payed one of the best CFB players in the last 20 years, who won the Heisman Trophy, and a National Championship would be a non-story?
I think you are missing the point. What do you think a 10 is in Charles Robinson's mind? Is it writing a story stating the obvious to anyone not an AU fan, or is it something else. If he is gonna drop a nuclear bomb on an SECw team, it's not gonna be old news.

No shite. If anyone else knew all of these answers Auburn wouldn't even be in this conversation right now.

A yahoo headline stating AU paid Cam would not be a 10. Most people are gonna read it and say no shite dumbass. Tell us something we don't know.
You weren't around these parts when the first whisper's of Cecil's indiscretions hit the board were you?
Did you read USAToday, SI, NyTimes, AtlJournal, CNBC, Forbes, Sporting News, Yahoo Sports, Orlando Sent ??? Did you watch ESPN's coverage?
Cam Newton news was BIG back then with no "proof" ~ It would be a +10 if it comes out he got paid.
