Cal just took a 1.5 million dollar pay cut, let's not act like he left Kentucky because of NIL.

Kentucky gave Cal exactly what he wanted: Total control of the program. So Cal is saying that Cal couldn't give Cal the support Cal needed?

Our basketball team does suck, but our reasoning skills seem to be intact, when compared to some fan bases.

If the rumor mill is to be believed, this might be true. When it was announced he would return next year, it is said that the NIL money at UK was threatened.

This is another byproduct of NIL. The handful of mega donors at any institution can now control coaching decisions by leveraging NIL money.

If true, Cal tool a pay cut and walked away from 30mil because he would have few resources to compete for players.

The Arky braintrust seems to think that with chicken and "people of Walmart" dollars, Cal will finally overcome the talent gap that kept him from winning championships at UK.

And the arse-To-mouth braintrust seems unable to comprehend that at the very least Cal thought he was out there making their NIL work, and he won't have to do that anymore. May free up some time to actually coach basketball, right?

he doesn't have to "go out and do it anymore."

Definitely sounds like a coach that's reinvigorated and ready to do what it takes to win.

Arkansas got bamboozled by a used car salesman on his way to retirement.

Yeah, Einstein. Cal couldn't mold a collection of AAU stars into a winning team because of time constraints.

Don't you have a broiler house to walk? Don't be lazy and leave the dead birds outside. It's warming-up this spring and they need to be put in the cooler.

Sure. It appears that pig is banking on an overpaid retread who has had nothing but talent in his previous tenure, but will magically "find it" and start coaching like John Wooden once he feels supported by Arky corporations.

Whatever the result, we'll own the Aggies, as usual.

As opposed to what, exactly? Hiring an up and comer from a lower division/lesser school? Cal has something like a 75% career winning percentage, and has taken several schools deep into the tournament. Overpaid retread? Maybe. Still better than anyone Missouri could or will ever hire.

Well, we are 108-61 vs. the Aggies, so you better hope we keep Cal for a long, long, time. Even after his death, probably.

Stop gaslighting the fans at UK. This goes deeper than, and Stoops will say so himself. Stoops has been complaining about NIL, and now Cal is also doing the same now that hes gone. UK has an NIL problem across all sports, not just MBB.

This is exactly what Cal was thinking. He no longer has to pass the hat to generate NIL funds.

Some of our major donors stopped donating because of the results, the Crafts especially.
