From the article:
So not a recruit, and not sure if it's a violation.
Regardless, Funes is a dirty SOB and is serving time for the embezzlement.
ETA: he laundered money in many ways with many people, FYI. Still, not an LSU issue or something LSU was involved with.

The Baton Rouge Business Report reported in June that Funes sent the money to James Alexander when his son was still playing for the Tigers, which might be a violation of NCAA rules regarding impermissible benefits.

Aggie specifically desperately needs LSU to disappear if they even want to compete for anything.
That must be why Jimbo just reeled in the greatest recruiting class ever.

Especially with Daddy Texas saying he's back.
Let me know when they beat Texas then I will worry.

LSU booster stole money from a charity and gave it to an LSU football players family (multiple players families actually) and you feel this doesn’t involve LSU?
Are you high?

I'm talking about on the field.
It seems Aggies don't even care how many games they win, just as long as they recruit well.

It seems LOLsu doesn't care how many games they win as long as they beat A&M. Just look at their record the last two years. One of those years includes a loss to A&M.

False.
He was laundering money through player's families.
Not laundering it to pay them.
You seem confused.
So the fact that the player's families got money was just a happy coincidence? An afterthought? Because adding the family of an LSU player to his scheme... people who would be under the microscope from the NCAA and other fanbases was just something to add a little more sizzle and excitement to the crime? Just a brilliant idea if you want to stay under the radar. While I am trying hide this from the authorities, let me try to hide it from every crazy football fan in the region.
Sounds more like he got to kill two birds with one stone. He got to steal money and he got to pay a player's family. Occam's razor doesn't seem to fly here.

So why did so many coaches get fired?

There is no proof that Funes was acting on behalf of the university. He was acting out of greed, and making himself richer. He used people to launder money.
He was an LSU booster, among other things, but in no way representing LSU in his pursuit of criminal activity.
He was convicted of money laundering with no side notes. You are just running with one of the many people he laundered money with to try and prop up your argument.
I can't make you understand it or explain it at a a more rudimentary level than what has been presented.
But, have your fun spewing your BS...

So what is your reasoning for the player's families kicking most of the money back to Funes?
And why was Funes providing money to the family of a player who had already retired from the NFL?

One Thing to understand. The NCAA is not a court of law. It is a kangaroo court and you have NO SAY whatsoever in what they do. Evidence means absolutely NOTHING. Get that in your head now. You are at their mercy.
This is so Effing True!

LSU. Booster gave money to families of LSU players while they were playing.

Evidence? Like a LSU booster being convicted of embezzlement (500,00) from a children's charity and using the money to pay LSU football players?
Or more a former LSU football player handing out cash on live tv to LSU players?
Or FBI wiretaps of LSUs head basketball coach making offers of cash to recruits that played at LSU?
And with this knowledge in hand LSUs AD just turned a blind eye to it. Court documents, FBI wiretaps, and live TV evidence. And y’all want to act like none of it is real? fricks sake it’s time to find another hill for y’all to die on.

I hate to bug you, but I am not finding any information. When were they caught cheating and what kind of proof was presented?

I am not doubting your word, just wondering about what they did, the type of proof that was given, etc.

FWIW, I think it dumb for anybody to say LSU deserves the death penalty, and suspect they are trolling.
That said, it is not a good look with everything that has happened at LSU over the past several years.

And it says LSU fans are as "stupid" as some of the other people slamming LSU right now.
You don't find it a bit hypocritical to point fingers at other schools while calling people stupid for pointing fingers at LSU?
