Indeed, mom and daddy's basements are overflowing with college graduates now, while those seeking out electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc type work are booked to the gills.
I think we all knew at some point something had to give. When I graduated high school it wasn't "are you going to college?" it was "where are you going to college?" That was in the 80's.
When my parents got out of high school in the 50's-60's, college was not assumed at all. Only the rich kids or the "ultra-smart" went to college.
Now immigrants do all our work while we sit in the basement staring at our useless degrees.
I'm an EE major btw so I exempt myself from the above

I think I have figured out why A&M pulled so far ahead of UTrans
At UTrans, they do not understand what masculinity is.

quote:
New to the ranking this year is a “character score,” which the Journal defines as, “the extent to which students feel the college has developed character strengths that will help them to make a meaningful contribution to society, including moral courage, hopefulness, resilience, wisdom and a sense of justice.”
“I’m thrilled to see the rest of the country start to catch on to what we here in Aggieland already know — that this university really stands for something,” said General (Ret.) Mark A. Welsh III, president of Texas A&M. “Our Core Values are at the heart of everything we do at Texas A&M. We take pride in knowing that we are developing the next generation of exceptional leaders who will put those Core Values into practice for the betterment of our state and nation.”
At UTrans, they do not understand what masculinity is.

That’s because once upon a time the goal of higher education was to learn how to think critically and intensively—not how to score a job. Colleges and universities were places to seek enlightenment. They certainly weren’t bellwethers or measurements of cultural fairness, where everyone was gifted with the funds and convenience to attend.
Today, university attendance is nothing more than a pathway to employment based on credit hours and the acquisition of supposed skills meant to benefit employers alone. In a so-called progressive quest for an “everyone should attend higher education” mentality, college degrees have all but been devalued.
The entire university system has been reduced to a job seeking failure. And since trade schools focus on actual skills, whilst universities mandate silliness like social justice and workforce pedantry, vocational/trade schools are a far better option.

Please explain how UTexas has a good football team with all the funds, support, fans, that any team good need.
I mean, according to you the entire student body should be a soccer fan.

WSJ is actually a credible publication when compared to rags such as US News and World Report.

Our fanbase is extremely supportive—to a fault—and has “run off” neither coaches nor QBs.

Idk what auto incident rate looks like in BCS, but everytime I go there you can bank that everyone on the road is looking at their phone. I mean all of them to a tee.

Cute, a ranking system no one looks at and no wonder. haha
Yet, all the rankings that people DO look at, Texas is above m&a farm school.
AP Poll, Coaches Poll, USA News best universities, Forbes, QS rankings
Forbes New Ivies
USA News
QS Ranking

I can assure the only reason race is a topic is due to the media and the Left.
Back when white folks were listening to Charley Pride on the Grand Ol' Opry, I think we were headed down a path of healing.
But then suddenly the Democrats got an idea and we kicked it back in reverse.

Got to love it when there is a topic about A&M and it has more comments from UTrans posters than any other fan base including the one it is written about.
They are obsessed with A&M. We live rent-free in their minds 24/7/365. They beg Chicken for months to open up their team forum so they could talk sports with each other. Their forum has been open for over 2 months and they have not even filled up two pages yet. They would rather spend their time here trying to bad mouth A&M.
